Hey DRS, if it helps for the time being you can buy Chasteberry tea/dried fruit online,, and if you do make sure it's natural.. Monks use it to dissipate desires.

I have'nt read all the responses to this post but will give my personal experience.

I entered the convent when I was 15yrs old..I choose  celibacy . I was a virgin at that time and sex never bothered me at all...I never had it so I did'nt miss it so to speak. Was it difficult...no...was it a gift to me...no.

I know of no scripture that says one is sinning is one avoids conceiving children
except for the story of Onan, but that is a differeant matter

For example, what if one yearns for sex but doesn't want kids vs. one that doesn't yearn for sex and doesn't want kids.
Not wanting kids? Sounds like the gift of selfishness to me, lol.

 3Behold, children are a gift of the LORD,

            The fruit of the womb is a reward.

      4Like arrows in the hand of a warrior,

            So are the children of one’s youth.

      5How blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them;

            They will not be ashamed

            When they speak with their enemies in the gate.

I suppose we are free to refuse gifts from God and reject His blessings.

This seems simple to me, if you cannot refrain from the temptation of sex, by all means get married. If that is not an issue, there is a good reason to refrain from marriage, to devote yourself to God, instead of having God have to share your devotion with your spouse. Some people may not have a good temperment to be a parent or a spouse, use good judgement. Love in all things, examine yourself and your motivations about decisions you make, and try to honor and please God in them, and things become a lot clearer.
