  1. One of the reasons why Catholic religion keeps you from having a close relationship with God, is that Instead of talking to Him directly in order to confess and ask Him to forgive you for your sins, you ask a Priest to do it for you instead. The Holy Spirit cannot become part of us without a personal relationship with Him. And without the Holy Spirit guiding our lives we become guided by the world, left on our own, and therefore become part of the world. The consequences of that life style can become missing out on the Kingdom of God.
  2. I'd like to clear something up before I leave... Looking for angels isn't something I was into before all this happened. It was only on that one day I hiked to the summit that the idea crossed my mind that it would be so great if I could present something to people who aren't saved, something they can see. The world seems so lost these days with all the ungodly things going on. I felt pain for the world and was desperate to try to help it with something it could see in these dark days. The major cause of my faith being weak after the hike, was the doubt of my feelings, the doubt of wondering if what I feel when connecting with God came from the Holy Spirit or my own emotions. I began having these doubts from reading a thread on Worthy where some members were saying that the Holy Spirit isn't a feeling and what we feel are our own emotions. I didn't believe in that at all but these thoughts lingered in me. So when I didn't see an angel on the video it just was an addition to questioning my faith. I was going through some kind of trials during that phase. But after what happened to my wife and listening to the message given to her, I knew It came from God. I then knew that what we feel when filled with the Holy Spirit aren't our own emotions but they are the Spirit of God. I later realized that even if someone had proof of one of God's creations such as an angel captured on camera, it wouldnt make a difference because people are going to believe what they want to believe. Salvation only comes by faith and surrendering to Jesus. However this story turned out to be an inspiring testimony for many, and I thank the Lord for that...
  3. Seek the Lord with all your mind, heart and spirit but most of all ask the Lord to renew you with His Holy Spirit so He can transform your heart and mind... Surrender to Him completely so He can fill your heart with love for others....God bless you Davida. With love, your brother in Christ..
  4. Amen, that's what counts the most, love amongst brothers and sisters.
  5. Hall, we have young ministers in our church who do wear baseball caps and hats, they are very much on fire for the Lord, I was wondering what I should be thinking ,don't want to be legalistic...we're all sinners saved by grace ..right? I think if its ok with everyone else in your church and these young ministers are on fire for the Lord then I don't see why it would be wrong as long as the fire of God in them is as strong with or without a cap on. Maybe it is kind of a legalistic thing but at the same time a show of respect for others who are against wearing caps in church.
  6. Everyone takes their hats off when they say the Pledge of Allegiance so why not for God if He's more important than that.
  7. I think not wearing a hat shows respect to others around us in church who would frown upon someone wearing a hat while attending service. I've prayed with and without a hat by myself in the outdoors and I don't think I noticed a difference in the connection I had with God. It's more of a matter of respect towards church and others I think. But regardless it would feel very awkward to see a preacher preach with a hat at church. That's just wrong, unless the service is outdoors on a cold winter day and protection is needed. That's the way I see it anyways...
  8. Should a man wear a hat during worship service, prayer, or in the Sanctuary? The only relevant passage is 1 Cor 11:4-7 containing some comments from Paul: Every man who prays or prophesies with his head covered dishonors his head, but every wife who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonors her head, since it is the same as if her head were shaven. For if a wife will not cover her head, then she should cut her hair short. But since it is disgraceful for a wife to cut off her hair or shave her head, let her cover her head. For a man ought not to cover his head, since he is the image and glory of God, but woman is the glory of man. This is a rather famous and contentious passage with many different conflicting interpretations. Does Paul mean “wear a hat” by “cover”? His language is hardly unambiguous — for instance, he says “A woman’s hair is given to her for a covering.” (1 Cor 11:9). And Paul is somewhat unclear about what praying or prophesying is — is it listening/sharing, or leading? And it’s not exactly clear quite what the scope of Paul’s instruction here is — is it a one off resolution of a local cultural issue, or a general rule for all churches? Jewish custom is to cover the head at all times, but it appears that firm Talmudic rulings on this are fairly recent (at least post-middle-age persecution), aimed at differentiating the Jews from the Christians, so it seems that this is no useful source of guidance on the cultural background to Paul’s words. My own interpretation is that while Paul’s words are ambiguous, there is no harm in a man consistently having his head uncovered (no hat) in a worship service where prayer will occur. Even when it’s a little cold. http://bibleq.net/answer/2289/
  9. No they can not change gender. We never see a female angel in the Bible. But a demon can disguise themself as a female angel. That is my concern. Demons cannot pray in the name of Jesus because they are repelled by His name and this lady did pray in Jesus name, demons cannot fill you with the Holy Spirit and this lady did in the name of Jesus.
  10. Davida. I never made contacts with spirits and I dont mix new age with Christianity because I have nothing to do with new age. Please stop making false accusations that keeps others from being blessed with this story.
  11. What about angels unawares? An angel unawares could be an appear ance of a homeless person in the streets no? If an angel can disguise himself as a homeless human why not a female human...I think? The thing is I don't see the purpose of a fallen angel doing good for someone. She told her that there was no need for me to look for an angel and kept my wife from leaving me when there was no reason to. Only good things came out of this occurence and we are very close to God. Now if an angel appeared in the appearance of an angel and it was a female then I would definitely question that. My wife didn't know it was an angel until it dissapeared and she was filled with the Holy Spirit.
  12. Thank you for your concern Davida, I am well aware of everything you wrote. I went through a new age phase about 5 years ago, and never delt with it again after that. I was renewed and cleansed by the Holy Spirit and have been a devout Christian since then without mixing anything with the Word God. I understand your concern about the angel appearing as a female, but remember that there are angels unawares who appear as a human being, which is what the lady appeared to be. The Lord works in mysterious ways because this occurrence resulted in a testimony that has helped many already, it cleansed my wife's mind and spirit, and it strengthened my faith. It also has been read by my mom, which is a lady lead by the Holy Spirit, she felt the confirmation of the Holy Spirit when she read it...
  13. Acts 2 reminds me of when it became windy when an angel dissapeared after talking to my wife. The Holy Spirit was present that day and she was renewed.
  14. Sometimes a life partner comes by seeking and sometimes by waiting. It is wise to seek with the Spirit and not the flesh to avoid making a wrong choice.
  15. Christian or not... Indeed, there is no one on earth who is righteous, no one who does what is right and never sins. Ecc 7:20
