I encourage all here to ignore any further posts from Eadora on this subject, this is the typical liberal game of parsing words.

I have given sources very clearly and backed up every position I have taken as have the rest of you on this subject matter, they have been and will continue to be ignored.

Those that espouse the communist ideals will brook no interference with that goal.

All are of course free to do as you feel led to do, I just wanted to put forward my take on the continuous baiting and word parsings.  Be well and........

God Bless all here and God Bless America "One Capitalist Nation Under God."

You know what? You're right, Reb. Same 'ole, same 'ole from the left. And to try to "discuss" is fruitless. The enemy is at work and will fight against the truth of the gospel at all costs, and in any area. Thanks for the reminder. I'm with ya. :24:

Eadora...there have been times where the only thing my family could afford to eat was Ramen noodles. I've definately gone to bed hungry a few times. We are by no means poor...our needs are always provided for by miracles. My dad has been without a job or source of income for well over a year now. I know a bit or two about poverty...and I'm against raising the minimum wage. Don't try liberal tactics with me :24:

I am a socialist in certain aspects...however I'm a fair socialist who realizes the reality that you need to work in order to survive.

Hear ya, S.J!!! Been there. I can remember times when I gave the meat to my children, and my husband and I ate only the vegetables and potatoes/noodles/rice. Sometimes the "meat" was hot dogs. (Well, many times, lol. )

You know what? I wouldn't undo it. I wouldn't appreciate what I have now, if not for those times of poverty. We laugh about it now, although we cried about it then. :24:

you want to talk poverty????

My grandpa didn't have running water OR electricity in Zwolle Louisianna.

He had a water well, an outhouse, and a woodburning stove. Chickens and pigs ran everywhere along with the great big orange cow ants and the dung beetles.

We took baths in a metal tub on the front porch so we'd have enough light to get the ticks from the woods off of us.

I think that Grandpa made a living on moonshine whiskey. :24: His "wife"(?) was an Indian woman that couldn't speak a lick of English named Lodi.

Luckily his son (my dad) wanted a real house. It weren't much...but it was a far cry from where he came!

Now if only we could have tamed him from the moonshine.....

ah...it was so much fun back then to go fishing in the swamp. Those were the days!

Wow, Yod! You make us look like the Rockerfellers!! :24: I bow to you - you are truly a bonafide hick. :24:

And here I was, bemoaning the fact that I had to send my kids down to my parents house to get toilet paper because we were broke. (How humiliating). Once we got on our feet and started to improve, I would always say (in my best 'Scarlet O'Hara' voice) - "By gosh almighty, by gosh almighty - I shall never drip dry again!!!"

That's still a joke in our house.

(sorry to be crude here. Just an 'ole hick at heart. ;) )

I ask for a survivable, sustenance level minimum wage. No whistles and bells here.

A wage is earned.

Ah yes, when 90% of the people on minimum wage are below the age of 18....yeah....good choice. Let's bankrupt our economy for acne faced, prom destined workers.
