Most sites discourage abundant  posting of scripture OneLight

Again, those that work on prophecy sites know how to look up scriptures that are given with commentary

And I would never separate prophecy from exegetical study .... all the same to me

Hi Daniel,

You have some good comments & scriptures there. However there are 2 errors that I see.

1. The Armageddon campaign is over Israel & not the rest of the Middle East.

2. You mix up the wars in Joel.

Joel 2: 20 is the Northern army (from the north quarter of the earth) against Israel.
Joel 2: 28 `And it will come about after this…` (period of time between wars)
Joel 3: 2 ` God says `I will gather ALL NATIONS, & bring them down to the valley of Jehoshapat..`
(This is the valley outside Jerusalem where the armies from Armageddon come to.)

Hi Daniel & others,

This is my understanding from God`s word, of this great war, the battle of Armageddon.

`…..spirits of demons…..which go out to the kings of the WHOLE WORLD, to gather them together for the war of the great Day of God, the Almighty……..And they gathered them together to the place which in Hebrew is called Har-Magedon.` (Rev. 16: 14 & 16)

Armageddon will be more than an isolated battle, or engagement contained in one specific area. The Greek word `Polemos` indicates a campaign that will extend over a large area, & a great period of time. Several other geographical locations are predicted to be involved. The prophet Joel gives added information & enlarges the area of operation.

`I will gather ALL NATIONS & bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat.` (Joel 3: 2)

This is an elongated valley commencing east of Jerusalem & spreads northward parallel to the Jordan Valley. Eventually, the City of Jerusalem, itself, will become involved & become the focal centre of attack & final conflict.

`I will gather ALL THE NATIONS against Jerusalem to battle, & the city will be captured ` (Zech. 14: 2)

Thus the armies of every nation in the world will initially gather at Armageddon. There, they will be consolidated into one mighty invasion force. It will advance in extended order, stretching from the Mediterranean Sea, to the Jordan Valley. This gigantic army will sweep through the plains of Esdraelon & Samaria conquering & subduing every town & village, exterminating all Israelis enroute.

Finally this force will encompass the City of Jerusalem which will eventually be overwhelmed, conquered & looted. Two-thirds of the whole Israel nation will be slain. (Zech. 13: 8 - 14: 2)

Jesus said, `When you see, Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then recognize that her desolation is at hand.` (Luke 21: 20)

Israel as a nation will be broken & crushed. The armies of ALL THE NATIONS of the world will be marshaled in victory formation outside Jerusalem. What a triumph! The whole world of at least 300 million troops against little Israel! What an overkill!! However it is predicted by Jesus that it will be a pyrrhic victory.

`And then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky` (Matt. 24: 30)

The Antichrist, & the kings of the earth will marshal their armies to make war against the Lord Jesus Christ for the kingdoms of this world. (Rev. 19: 19) Their military aggression against such an adversary, will be completely ineffective.

Jesus comes forth triumphantly as King of Kings & Lord of Lords. He now appears as the mighty conqueror in Sovereign Power & Authority. (Zech. 14: 3 & Rev. 19: 11 – 14)

At this precise moment the combined military force of the world will be totally destroyed. Not by any military operation, but by the Word of authority of the Lord Jesus Christ, that emanates from His mouth like a sharp sword. (Rev. 19: 15)

In effect: -
`…the Lord will strike all the peoples who have gone to war against Jerusalem; their flesh will rot while they stand on their feet, & their eyes will rot in their sockets, & their tongue will rot in their mouth.` (Zech. 14: 12)

This is frighteningly similar to the effects of a thermo-nuclear blast! In one dramatic blow the power of the Antichrist & the false Prophet will be broken forever. In an inglorious end they will be taken, & will be cast alive into the Fiery lake of Eternal Punishment.

Satan, the evil motivating power behind his dictators, will be bound & rendered inoperative for the entire period of the `Millennial Reign of Christ` over the earth. (Rev. 20: 1 – 3)

Thus the Lord conquers over every hostile force as he returns to earth triumphantly to rule & reign: -

`On that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives east of Jerusalem.` (Zech. 14: 4)

The Mt Zion reporter published the following: -

`Holiday Inns planned to erect a large hotel on a hilltop outside Jerusalem City. They sent their group of engineers to research the site. After some investigation they returned & filed their report. There was no way a hotel could be built on that location. There was a geological fault under the selected spot on the Mount of Olives. It could split down the centre at any time.`

The project was abandoned. This discovery was extremely significant: -

`On that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives…..it will split in two from East to West forming a great valley. ` (Zech. 14: 4)

God`s word is so accurate. Blessings, Marilyn.

I see the prophets focused specifically upon Israel and the Muslim Middle East

So our views are similar, but different Marilyn

Other nations of the earth will all certainly be affected by the tribulation period, but none of them are named or identified

Terms like the "whole earth" used in scripture is generally always a focus upon Israel and the nations "round about" and these are the Muslim states today

I see the Lord's view coming full circle and back to the post flood lands identified in the Middle East

The prophecies are centered upon Israel, the inner states [Psalms 83], and the adjacent outer ring states [Ezekiel 38]

The little horn of Daniel's visions rises out of the northern Middle East [the core region of the ancient Assyrian Empire]

It is this one who will succeed in consolidating the Middle Eastern Muslim states and overrunning Israel for a short period of time

He will also cause great upheaval and destruction from his vantage point against his opposition from other nations of the world by attacking and sweeping away many

His vectors reaching opposition outside of the Middle East will be toward the West, South, East, and North in the same order [the great city part of MBG, Egypt, the Orient, and Russian territory]

The core of western domination will be his first victim early in the tribulation .... the first judgment of the period [Revelation 8:6-12; 14:8; 18]

Next he will conquer Egypt [Daniel 11:40;42]

Then the orient [far east] [Daniel 11:44]

And then Russian territory [far north] [Daniel 11:44]

.... and then he will invade and occupy Israel, Jerusalem, and the temple mount at the middle of the 70th week decreed and rule over Israel during the second 1260 days [42 months] of the time of Jacob's trouble [same as the tribulation period] [Daniel 11:41; Micah 5:5-6; Zechariah 12; 13; 14; Revelation 13:1-5; 11:2]

A believing remnant will flee for protection by the Lord in the Jordanian wilderness, many others of Israel will be scattered, and 2/3 of Israel will be killed [Zechariah 13:8-9; 14:1-5; Matthew 24:15-16; Luke 21:20-24; Revelation 12:6; 12:14]

It is at the end of the 70th week [2520 days] that the Lord will intervene [isaiah 63:1-5; Zechariah 14:3] ... and He will drive the little horn and his Muslim followers to Armageddon which will play out over the next 30 days ... and the war will be finished
