Words are living things. So much so that the Bible says that life and death are in the power of the tongue. There are thousands of members at Worthy, both the saved and the unsaved. We've all had different experiences that have shaped our lives. Those of us who are Christians are all at different places in our walk with God. Those who are not Christians yet are influenced by those of us who are. They see what we say and how we say it, making decisions about us, and God, based on them. Those of us who are Christians must be attentive to our words and how we use them in our responses to each other. Grace must abound, just as we have been shown grace by our Redeemer. Below are just a few scriptures to help remind us of the power of our words. --------------------------------------------- And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. John 1:14 In the multitude of words sin is not lacking, But he who restrains his lips is wise. Proverbs 10:19 The thoughts of the righteous are right, But the counsels of the wicked are deceitful. The words of the wicked are, "Lie in wait for blood," But the mouth of the upright will deliver them. Proverbs 12:5-6 The words of a man's mouth are deep water; The wellspring of wisdom is a flowing brook. Proverbs 18:4 But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment. For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned. Matthew 12:36-

It seems that it's timely every day... we have so many opportunities to use our words to hurt, curse and kill on a daily basis these days. It takes strength of character, wisdom and God's grace, to use them to edify, encourage and bless others instead.

When I say "we" I really mean "we" as in me included. I reccommend we all shuold read the third chapter of James. I need to read it, that is for sure. But we have to be so careful about how we take them. For example here on the net we cannot SEE the other persons facial expression or the body movements that we go by everyday as we are talking to people. Just thought that would be a good thing to mention. Love and Blessings, Angel
