Guest Teditis
I got a case of the Flu this year... just a few weeks ago, and it was pretty bad. I think that I may have died from it, but got better... still have some lingering chest congestion though.

People are afraid of the flu vaccination and are not getting it hence the outbreak of the flu.

If it is not the one that comes around when they are in their 60's , they don't have the inoculation for it so , that is why some get sick . Seems to me the key is to always work on having a healthy immune system, so that no matter what comes around your body has better chance to fight it off. You can also buy an air sanitizer that uses ultraviolet light which kills germs , bacteria and viruses. They use ultra violet light air sanitizers are used in some hospitals. Also, they say Hibiscus Tea has been shown to be effective at killing the avian virus. Hibisicus Tea has been shown to kill avian flu virus. http://www.greenmedinfo.com/blog/hibiscus-tea-kills-deadly-avian-flu-virus-study-finds-2 A healthy immune system is a very good goal to reach for but it will not always keep a person from getting the flu if they have not been vaccinated. I understand that the flu shot this year is doing a very good job of keeping everyone from getting the virus's that were included in the vaccine this year and that has not always been the case. Some people think that turmeric is just as good as getting a flu shot but that is not so. The nasal flu spray is not effective and is not recommended because it is a live virus. You can actually get the flu from this spray. The flu vaccine is a dead virus and a person can not get the flu from the vaccine. The vaccine does not take effect for 10 days to 2 weeks for the titers to take effect. A person can get the flu in that amount of time after getting the vaccine if they are not careful. There have been incidents where a person has gotten the flu a couple of months after getting the flu vaccine but it is a very light case and not life threatening. A person who gets a flu vaccine is also protecting those around them and those who they love.

Guest BacKaran
Count me out for a free flu shot, been there, done that, still got sick. Thirty years of no flu shots and I've been down a handful of times, yes like a week, and felt like a truck ran me over. I'll take my chances cuz no one knows what they are putting in those shots. With contact lenses some solutions have timerosol in it. I could not use that solution. Why? Timerosol is another word for mercury! I worked with five eye specialists and learned much about products reps try to sell to Drs..

The risk of the flu shot verses the dangerous effects of the flu does not even compare.
