Fact is socialism is just watered down communism, and is a stepping stone to communism. Sanders policies would be horrible for this country, absolutely horrible. Now I can respect the fact he ran a clean campaign devoid of scandal unlike the other candidate running, whom I will not name. With that said I could never vote for Sanders unless the choice was between him the traightor that ran against him from the Democrat side, and even then I think I'd write in Mickey mouse. No, there's a huge difference between a mixed capitalism/socialism system and communism. Sanders isn't advocating for the abolition of private property; he wants the US to adopt policies we already see in much of the developed world, like universal healthcare. Disagree with those policies all you want, but calling him a communist is just inaccurate. Personally, I'm more fiscally conservative than Sanders, but I would have strongly preferred him to Trump. 19 minutes ago, MorningGlory said: I wouldn't publicly declare I would vote Democrat and embarrass myself in that way but, that's just me. Bernie Sanders is an oldl school, dyed in the wool, Communist who is not a member of the D party, btw. Luckily for him, it's legal in the U.S. to be antiamerican. If he lived in his beloved Russia, he'd be in prison. Why would me being a Democrat be embarrassing? True, Sanders is technically an independent who caucuses with the Democrat party. That still doesn't make him a communist, as we've been over many times. Thankfully not. If you think people should be imprisoned for certain political beliefs, you're more than welcome to emigrate to Russia.

And theres a lot more to socialism then the lack of private property....in fact, thats a misdemeanor, most socialist governments, even communist governments, allow private property..... Communism: a political theory derived from Karl Marx, advocating class war and leading to a society in which all property is publicly owned and each person works and is paid according to their abilities and needs. However, in reality, its far different-land is "owned" primarily by the powerful. On "paper" it is like that, but the reality is extremely different, it is a highly corruptible system as has been proven by the USSR and Russia over the decades. Speaks out for the "low paid people" in favor of taxing the rich and helping the poor...while owning 3 homes, driving a six figure car, and pays far less in taxes then any other candidate in the race. Should tell you all you need to know about the guy. Trump paid 25% in taxes....Sanders paid a whopping 13.5% His lifestyle does not match his words. So, just because Sanders says he doesnt support such a system-does not mean he doesn't. His lifestyle shows he very much supports such a system. Owning multiple houses and driving a fancy car is more of a capitalism thing than a communist one.

I agree, but it goes against what he teaches, and is in line with communism-socialistic politics, while owning stuff most people can't afford and making more money then 99% of the population...while speaking out against such things. If he were a proponent of capitalism-which he is not, then I would have no issue with him owning any such things.

Sanders IS a Communist; he actively campaigned against people who have what he considers too much and wants the wealth distributed over those who haven't earned it. And he advocaltes class and race warfare. Classsic.
