My dad and mom were born a long time ago in history. I wasn't that interested in history back then. Now I could really soak it up.

I have always like history. Especially if I can here it from people that were actually there.

Guess you loved Walter Cronkite and his simulated histories "You Are There."

I am old, have a history, and nobody not even even me gives a damn.

Live in the day, it is the day God has granted.

Don't miss today thinking about tomorrow and worrying about yesterday.

Humor (Just in case someone take me too seriously):

I'm what? 73, and I am still the sandwich generation! My mother is 94. I help an 88 year old uncle, and have adult kids in their 50s now, still with occasional need of something or another. Praise God for the condiments, or my life would get pretty dry. And also very much praise for my new child bride! Woo hoo! If I'm going to live a second childhood can there be a better way?

Wow, that woman was 5 when the Titanic sank!

I'm gonna tell my aunt Margaret (100) that she's still very young.

A tip of the hat to your aunt Margaret!

One hundred years, that's a long long path traveled. Hard to imagine walking even a mile in those shoes, and such a pleasure for the most part when talking to people even near that age.

The fullness of the life most of them have lived. It is such a privilege, a treasure, to have one as your own family and have some little knowledge of the details of what they share of a long lifetime's history. My own family has  a few 94 and 95 years old's now.

One was reminiscing about the B-17 campaigns over Italy during WWII and how he still has a hard time with the memories. Another family member spoke up and said she still has a hard time with the memories of his bombing runs flights to  her town, with  his bombing it, too.

Awkward! - Makes for an interesting Thanksgiving dinner time.

Oh the histories the stories, of running away with the carnival, jitterbug dancing competitions,  Pacific Island campaign of WWII  so many rich histories of life.

One Hundred years, Yep, what a treat to have someone like that.

Bless her soul. I don't know if I'd want to live 117 years but what history she would have lived through. Certainly not a dull life that's for sure.

Rest her.
