I agree that his strength was out of "proportion to his physical appearance" but like I said, I think making Samson look like a strong man when he most likely wasn't in my humble opinion, distorts Christian's thinking.  It takes away from the incredible way we look at God Almighty.  How much more meaningful it is and how awesome is our God in that story when He uses an ordinary man and gives him supernatural strength?

I think, seeing as the Bible doesnt actually give a description of samson, that any attribute we give him be it muscular or skinny, is nothing more then pure speculation. I suspect if his physical appearance had anything to do with it, if it added anything at all to the story, the Bible would have provided that information. As it is, to me, its nothing more then that-speculation, an interesting discussion point at most.

God can use anyone...He's not limited to the physically weak or the untalented. Saul was chosen as king even though he was tall...it was his unfaithfulness later on the disqualified him.

Yes, because God looks at the heart and not the outer appearance.

I believe God uses the unlikely so that ALL GLORY goes to Him and to Him only.
