Who's with me on this? I mean, cake is vastly inferior to pie, but cheesecake rocks. For that reason alone it should be elevated to pie status. But there is the fact that it is far more pie-like than cake like. How many cakes do you know of that have a crust (much like pie) and a soft and delicious (non cake-like) filling very similar to that of pumpkin, key lime, or even sweet potato pie?
