The op was hearing voices that in my opinion were not of God. There's a lot of prophet wannabes coming thru here trying to sell thier goofball ideas and I believe this latest batch is the cream of the kookoos. That is only my opinion, which appears to be worth very little to the "intellectuals" around here. Since nobody finds my input to be the least bit edifying then I will resort to silliness and at least try and make someone smile. Or is it our mission to bum everybody out before they go to bed? Lets all be cranky malcontents and while we're at it we can throw in some wild storys about the hateful god and goofed up theologies that we apparently have been following for 2000 years. And hey, if anybody else comes around here that doesn't believe we can just antagonise him to the point where he will never listen to another christian again. Is worthy getting just as crazy as the world or am I losing my marbles :whistling:

The bible seems to treat the man of sin in a very serious way. We are told to have wisdom and count the number of his name for that will identify him. This has to be a religious leader in that he sits in the temple, the church, and claims the authority of God upon this earth. This is how he can deceive the very elect or christians. God wouldn't have told us about him if he didn't want us to know who he was. John Wycliffe, Jan Huss and Martin Luther knew. Most of Protestant Christians in the 1800s knew. Now no one seems to know. Looks like deception has already set in.

2THES 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come,

except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be

revealed, the son of perdition;

2:4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or

that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God,

shewing himself that he is God.

2:5 Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these

things?

2:6 And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in

his time.

2:7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now

letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.

2:8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall

consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the

brightness of his coming:

2:9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all

power and signs and lying wonders,

2:10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish;

because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be

saved.

A study of Daniel identifies this as a religious kingdom which arose out of the kingdom of Pagan Rome.

DAN 7:8 I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them

another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns

plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like

the eyes of man (the man of Sin), and a mouth speaking great things.

7:9 I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days

did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head

like the pure wool: his throne was like the fiery flame, and his

wheels as burning fire.

Here we have a way to calculate the name and identify of the Man of sin or the beast that gives the mark of the beast.

REV 13:15 And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the

image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as

would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.

13:16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and

bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:

13:17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or

the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

13:18 Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number

of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six

hundred threescore and six.

There is nothing humorous about the mark of the beast or the man of sin. It is a matter of life or death. Time would be better spent in serious bible study and importune prayer before the Creator and Redeemer to reveal to us His wisdom and make our calling and election sure. I don't think that Paul found it humorous.

He ceased not to warn them with tears in Acts 20 because he knew what was coming and that the people wouldn't take it serious enough.

Love always in Christ,

Dennis

It is humorous when every other Sunday we get people who know who try to guess the identity of the AC is .

I also have done research and have a rough idea on where he will stem from.

But to state that we will know who that is then it is nothing but an assumption and a prediction which has no place in a Christian Life and Walk.

That was what I was trying to say.

If we can't make fun of the devil then the world is indeed a sad place.

2 Thes. 2:3-4

3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come,

except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be

revealed, the son of perdition;

4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or

that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God,

shewing himself that he is God.

Here, I believe, is the key.

It says:

"and that man of sin be revealed"

And what else does it say?

He will exalt himself such that he will "[show] himself that he is God."

It seems as if this gets ignored in everyone's attempt to ID the AC.

I think I agree with Nebula up to a point.

To keep it real simple I would the say that there are things that will happen before the Anti-Christ is revealed.

For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.

And then shall that Wicked be revealed

I was wondering saints what are your thoughts on this particular line of the verse.

We will know the AC when he gets here. Shouldn't we be gathering the harvest in the mean time? :emot-wave:

That's the thing. If he were that obvious, why then all the warnings? Yes, we should certainly be gathering the harvest in, and should never replace that with an obsession over End Times stuff. But, we are to be aware, and we are to be watchful, because the Bible tells us so.

Think about how often you are deceived by Satan right now. You probably are not even aware of how much, because he is subtle most of the time. When you, not necessarily you specifically, put down another person because that person does not think like you, do you not think that is a lie of Satan to get you to believe that it is ok to make fun of people who think differently? Would Jesus do that?

We sin regularly, sometimes just because we want to, and other times it is because we have believed the lies of Satan. If he can lie to us now and us not even realize in many cases that we are giving in to his lies, then how can we be sure we will recognize him? He's not going to just jump out and declare, "hey, I'm God." The Bible says he will deceive many. So, we need to know what the Bible says about him and we need to be watching and seeing who might fit the bill - not to the point of obsession, but prayerfully and thoughtfully and in reverence and awe of God.
