The whole book is about false teachers. perhaps you missed that?

I've read the book of Jude several times. It doesn't say we should stand by and do nothing while false teachers lead our churches astray, I don't believe.

That's right, it says contend for the faith, and "pull those who will listen out of the fire.

Are they under authority? If the pastor will not listen to what you say, then go to the authority under which they serve. (On a side note, it sounded amusing that you had read Jude several times. :) )

Our bishop is a lesbian - I don't think that will work.

Is your church going to go with the conservative group? So, here is my opinion: it is likely that the pastor and the congregation already know how you feel. If you cannot sit in peace under them, then leave and find another congregation.

I'm not an expert on what is happening in the United Methodist Church. I think there are three groups. First there are liberals who want to leave the church. Then there are conservatives that want to leave the church. Then there are those of us who don't want to leave the church.

Our current pastor (he's been with us for a little over a year and a half) is causing no problems. I see no sentiment in our church to leave the United Methodist Church. I do not want to find myself being run out of my church - I'd rather stand and fight, if necessary.

Jesus would be grumpy wumps you know.

Write down a list of stuff you need to do with numbers for each item for priority.

This is a good question.  For me and my wife, we leave the congregation.  There's too much pride in some ministers to see and acknowledge their errors.  That's been my experience.

I love my church. I think staying and fighting is a good choice.

The Bible is clear on dealing with correcting error amongst its members, and the teachings of false teachers and teachings in the church.  Tolerance of false teachers and teachings is not recommended.

It isn't a single church issue. There is a war going on in the United Methodist Church regarding homosexuality. The conservatives got their way in the special church conference held a year ago. Now some churches want to leave the United Methodist Church, apparently.
