“At the moment I have all I need—more than I need!

I am generously supplied with the gifts you sent me when Epaphroditus came.

They are a sweet-smelling sacrifice that pleases God well.”

Philippians 4:18

You have succeeded in life when all you really want

is only what you really need.

I think I am never fully successful though I have all that I need.

God always provides the perfect provision amount to motivate me on, on to strive harder in running the race in order to finish well. Making gain is not about self, but about being able to give  generously from an earned share to widows and orphans that they may have opportunity to also strive, gain, store up, and reinvest of themselves and their capital in service of our Lord with  the then gained ability to share of the "fruits" of corners of the fields at the very least.

For me to store up that which I have in physical or fiscal gain is not to do what my LORD will reward at the end of this race. To sit  in satisfaction just holding on may allow me to  finish and win the race, but it will have done so in an unmeritorious manner, bringing shame upon even victory.

So I, even this moment, think upon what must I do with the "capital" God has granted me. How do I make gain with it is the question. Then working the answer I am led to is the labor that I am to perform to God's glory. Whether it be small glory  or large is found in the effort put in to the mission. Shame on me if I conclude I shall coast along because it appears I may be comfortable  sitting instead of stretching towards gain.

I understand. I receive more than I need.
The older I get, the more grateful I become (the little things).......default_cool2.gif.ed86aaafe8355afb7b0332055cbdf8fa.gif
I am still learning when God bestows blessings upon me,
this blessing is to be shared with others.
I believe this is easily understood. By the brethren.

Thank you for a very good idea to think about this morning, and a very good reminder that what I am receiving is what I need and not necessarily what I want.  I used to pray for the things that I wanted, and so often God never seemed to answer these prayers.  In my selfishness I would get angry because I wasn't getting what I wanted.  As I've gotten older I've learned that I really don't like anger.  It feels like poison in me.  So in order to stop myself from getting angry I have learned to accept the idea that I get what I need not what I want.  And I have come to love this saying because it has helped me live more in a state of peace and gratitude from every little thing that I receive, every day.

There is quite a difference in what we want and what we need. God provides us with what we need.

God seems to always have a way to address our needs/concerns.

Through His Word, circumstances, or through other people.

I am thrilled that He spoke to you through this morning's post.

Blessings!
