A CALL TO REPENTANCE Dr. Charles Stanley April 2, 2020 Luke 24:46-47 Then He said to them, " Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day, and that repentance and remissions of sins should be preached in His name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem". The truth is that all have sinned. Everyone has done things that are wrong and made bad decisions. All people have hurts and concerns. There is not a person who has absolutely no regrets, and there is not one living soul who can be saved without Jesus. In Luke 24: 46-47, Jesus said forgiveness of sins would be proclaimed in His name. The good news is that every person can escape the consequences of sin through the blood of Christ. Christians often attempt to construct great arguments about why accepting Christ as Savior is profitable and good. Yet the beauty of the gospel is its simplicity. Everyone has sinned. Everyone needs forgiveness from sin. Jesus provides that forgiveness. Repent and accept Him as your Savior. All people have sins and hurts with which they need help. The call to repentance is the pathway to Christ. Lead them to Jesus, and you will have fulfilled the goal of the Cross. Lord, let me never forget that where religion is complicated, faith is simple: Jesus died for my sins and through repentance I am reconciled to God. I wouldn't be too concerned about not having a theologian's lofty sense of impressive words. I am certainly not an intellectual by any means. If the gospel leading to salvation was so complicated that it took a genius to comprehend it all, how would the majority of people drawn to the love of our Saviour ever find it? Nice post, Miss. Thanks for sharing it. I think this also needs to be said. Worthy Christian Forums are for everyone regardless of their knowledge or how they personally interpret doctrinal beliefs. All of us have our standpoint and opinions to be shared with one another.
