First and foremost, for the devout Muslim community, the Crusades never ended and thus they are still at war with Christians. To them Europe, and the United States, are Christian nations. This means, in their paradigm, we run our governments upon Christianity, thus anytime we have interaction with the middle east in anyway, they view it as an invasion, or a Crusade. Secondly, they view Europe and the US as immoral and that the Christian church either partakes in it or sits by and watches it occur. To them this shows coruption and why we must not only be stopped from entering their lands, but also from ruling ourselves. They believe we should be run by Islamic law to prohibit us from our immorality. Third, and final (though there are more reasons, these are the biggest), is our support of Israel. That digs into the devout and even moderate Muslim community more than anything else. None of these are justifications of why they do what they do, but merely explanations.
