Many Christians give lip service to the fact they live in the New Covenant. The truth however is that because they fail to realise they are no longer under the law they are really still living in an Old Covenant reality. Here are 37 scriptures that prove that Christians are not under the law! Acts The law is an unbearable yoke. (Acts 15:10) Romans The law reveals sin but cannot fix it. (Romans 3:20) If the law worked then faith would be irrelevant. (Romans 4:14) The law brings wrath upon those who follow it. (Romans 4:15) The purpose of the law was to increase sin. (Romans 5:20) Christians are not under the law. (Romans 6:14) Christians have been delivered from the law. (Romans 7:1-6) The law is good, perfect and holy but cannot help you be good, perfect or holy. (Romans 7:7-12) The law which promises life only brings death through sin. (Romans 7:10) The law makes you sinful beyond measure. (Romans 7:13) The law is weak. (Romans 8:2-3) 1 Corinthians The strength of sin is the law (1 Corinthians 15:56) 2 Corinthians The law is a ministry of death. (2 Corinthians 3:7) The law is a ministry of condemnation. The Law of sin and death which is referring to the carnal nature Or the oral Law which is a yoke of bondage Or the Torah as perverted by the scribes and Pharisees so that they can keep it by their own without the grace of God or the Torah as it is now written on the hearts of the believer by the Holy Spirit so that we can keep it. Torah means instructions in righteousness. Now that we have been saved by grace through faith. we have an obligation to keep God's righteous laws both OT and NT. You are correct. Israel cound not keep it. Therefore God made a new covenant with the house of Israel and Judah with better promises and a better priesthood. But in this new covenant the Torah is now written on their hearts so that they can keep it. It's now the Law in Christ ( he came in the volume of the book as it is written I delight to do your will O God, your Laws is written within my heart), then Christ in us the hope of glory . When you look at the new covenant, it is the same covenant but with a new dimension to it. God does not break covenant. He had simply taken the old covenant and added a new dimension to it making everything better so that Israel can keep it. We the gentiles have been engrated into the olive tree and made partakers of the same covenant God made with Israel. God never made the new covenant with the church. Israel and the church serve the same God. We have the same faith, the same covenant and the same Torah. That the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. God is a God of righteousness and justice. His laws are perfect and beneficial, and breaking them is completely opposite of God’s way of love.
