Is everyone/anyone following these words of God?

Hebrews 6:1 Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,

Hebrews 6:2 Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.

Hebrews 6:3 And this will we do, if God permit.

What subjects are being brought up and discussed that have us going on unto perfection?

What subjects do you feel NEED to either be brought up or looked  deeper  into?

If we are not finding deeper and better treasures and sharing them WILL God continue to give us more?

If our beliefs in the word of God are not somewhat fluid, how do we move forward?

If we don't 'let go' of false beliefs when first discovered, is that willful disobedience based on the pride of the flesh?

WHAT PART(S) OF THE WORD OF GOD HAS SATAN WORKED ON MOST TO 'KEEP US' FROM?
OR
ARE THE PARTS  OF THE WORD DEEMED "FORBIDDEN" THE PARTS WE  really  SHOULD MOST BE LOOKING INTO?

IF GOD HAS GIVEN US ANY OF THESE TRUTHS AND WE DON'T SOUND OUT A WARNING BECAUSE OF FEAR OF WHAT OTHERS MAY SAY OR DO, WHERE DOES THAT LEAVE US.

Have you ever followed Christ by

Hebrews 5:7 Who in the days of His flesh, when He had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto Him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that He feared;

Hebrews 5:8 Though He were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which He suffered;

Hebrews 5:9 And being made perfect, He became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey Him;

Hebrews 5:10 Called of God an high priest after the order of Melchisedec.

Hebrews 5:11 Of whom we have many things to say, and hard to be uttered, seeing ye are dull of hearing.

Hebrews 5:12 For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.

Hebrews 5:13 For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.

Hebrews 5:14 But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

IF we don't exercise our senses here, will we be allowed to there?

Just looking see if there are others at this time willing to let go of the things discussed enough and hit some of the buried treasure.  Or those who have some buried treasure needing to be shared.

I was reading today

Matthew 13:11 He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.
Does this say that to some Gods Word comes easy and to others they have to "work" at it still?

Matthew 13:12 For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath.

Matthew 13:13 Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.

Matthew 13:14 And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive:

Matthew 13:15 For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.

Matthew 13:16 But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear.

Just reaching out for that 1 maybe 2 in the same place as I am.

Hi DeighAnn.

There was an attachment to the Law of Moses among the Hebrews which made it difficult for them to "go on to perfection".

Heb 5:11-14  Of whom we have many things to say, and hard to be uttered, seeing you are dull of hearing.  (12)  For when for the time you ought to be teachers, you have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.  (13)  For every one that uses milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.  (14)  But strong meat belongs to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

Laying the foundation is the first step in the building process and once this in place we are good to go with the rest of the structure.

The subjects and discussions that accompany salvation have us going on to perfection, and by implication to completion.  Where there is a genuine desire to be a blessing to the body of Christ by spurring one another on to fellowship in and around the Word of God, there will be teaching, reproof, correction, and instruction in righteousness as per 2 Timothy 3:16.

Heb 6:9  But, beloved, we are persuaded better things of you, and things that accompany salvation, though we thus speak.

Heb 10:24  And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:

2Ti 3:16-17  All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:  (17)  That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

1 Corinthians 13:8–12 (NASB95)
8 Love never fails; but if there are gifts of prophecy, they will be done away; if there are tongues, they will cease; if there is knowledge, it will be done away.
9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part;
10 but when the perfect comes, the partial will be done away.
11 When I was a child, I used to speak like a child, think like a child, reason like a child; when I became a man, I did away with childish things.
12 For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face; now I know in part, but then I will know fully just as I also have been fully known.

The perfection is the fullness of God's revelation to mankind  (the Word of God the Bible).

At the time of the writing of all scripture cited in this thread, only the Tanakh (Old Testament existed.

And if memory serves, even the cannon of the Tanakh was still in flux. Council of Jamnia? There is some debate about it

being when and where the OT was cannonized.

Point being... the full revelation and the full interpretation of scriptures by the Holy Spirit who wrote them is the

perfection... and the doctrines about the deity of Christ, triunity of the Godhead, etc. only then could be discovered

by comparing all scripture with all scripture (under the tutelage of the Holy Spirit) for the first time in history.

We have a treasure beyond worth in our Bibles... if only we'd use them properly.
