Which came first, the chicken or the egg?  The tree or the seed?  The sperm or the ovum?  The dark or the light?

Since such questions about reality and existence reveal dualities, we are constrained in the present only, the middle, to admit we do not know how life can come from inanimate matter.

Think about that very, VERY, clearly before you respond to my post.  But remember, biogenesis is a law of nature and the universe, and abiogenesis is not, and the latter has never been proven to exist.  You would think people would give up at that point to attempt to prove that life comes from non living matter, they would surrender and say "I don't know", yet they cannot even do that basic simple child understanding of admitting you aren't omniscient yet.

I think most scientists already say "I don't know" but curiosity drives them on to continue to researching. It may be a dead-end, but I don't have a problem with people studying and hypothesizing. There are lots of interesting ideas already floating out there for possibilities. What if one day they succeed?

And I think we need to remind ourselves that biologists studying these things are not automatically atheists.

Let's ask God...

Genesis 1:24 And God said: Let the earth bring forth the living creature in its kind, cattle and creeping things, and beasts of the earth, according to their kinds. And it was so done.

God says it did.   I believe Him.

God created these life forms first where they were already living, they didn't evolve.

That's a different issue.  As you just learned, God says that life came from non-living matter.

That is an assumption that is not in scripture.

It's also not even supported by the main creationist organizations.

For the record Neil DeGrasse Tyson says that the egg came first and it was produced by something other than the modern chicken. He does not know much about Biology though. We know that domestic animal came from wild animals. In the case of botany all the middle east wild species still exist. If we look at bananas for example (in asia). The ones we eat come from a wild species that has seeds in it. Noah saved domesticated plants and animals. If they had perished that step in evolution would have perished and the civilized world would not exist today. Science is aware of how civilization spread from the middle east to Europe.

No, life came from God.  Let's look at the complete verse.

20 And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.

21And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

22And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth.

23And the evening and the morning were the fifth day.

24And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so.

25And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

And God created... and God made... and all were created in their entirety by the end of day six, along with man.  Man is a carbon based collection of elements which were created by God and arranged by God into living beings that only God could create.  With the exception of man, the earth was populated by adult species at the end of day six.  Does this, then, glorify the water, the earth, or the Creator?

You think water and earth are alive?   Seriously?   I get that you're willing to believe that God created life, and that's good.   But you're not willing to accept the way He says He did it.    God says that non-living matter brought forth life.

As you've seen the text itself tells us that the "yom" of creation are not literal 24-hour days.   It's not a salvation issue; you won't lose heaven, if you believe your new doctrine.    Just don't make an idol of it.
