Gen 7:10-14-  And after the seven days the floodwaters came on the earth.

In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, on the seventeenth day of the second month—on that day all the springs of the great deep burst forth, and the floodgates of the heavens were opened.

And rain fell on the earth forty days and forty nights.

On that very day Noah and his sons, Shem, Ham and Japheth, together with his wife and the wives of his three sons, entered the ark.

Now I get it, now I see  our confusion. Get a King James so you can figure out what's really going on. Your translation is giving you false information.

Secondly Gen 7 gives three accounts of the same thing. Each one has more details.

The first account is Gen 7: 1-6, the second account is Gen 7:7-12, The third account is Gen 7: 13-24

You are grabbing the end of the second account and merging that into the third account.

When God says on the selfsame day he is not talking about the same day that it rains, he is saying that on the selfsame day, Noah, his family and the animals enter the ark--meaning that they all entered in one day. That day is 7 days before the flood, not the day of the flood.

AGAIN, you are using the end of the second account verse 11 and 12 and merging that information into the beginning of the third account. I marked it in red xxxx's

Gen 7

1 And the Lord said unto Noah, Come thou and all thy house into the ark; for thee have I seen righteous before me in this generation.

Of every clean beast thou shalt take to thee by sevens, the male and his female: and of beasts that are not clean by two, the male and his female.

Of fowls also of the air by sevens, the male and the female; to keep seed alive upon the face of all the earth.

For yet seven days, and I will cause it to rain upon the earth forty days and forty nights; and every living substance that I have made will I destroy from off the face of the earth.

And Noah did according unto all that the Lord commanded him.

And Noah was six hundred years old when the flood of waters was upon the earth.

Gen 7

And Noah went in, and his sons, and his wife, and his sons' wives with him, into the ark, because of the waters of the flood.

Of clean beasts, and of beasts that are not clean, and of fowls, and of every thing that creepeth upon the earth,

There went in two and two unto Noah into the ark, the male and the female, as God had commanded Noah.

10 And it came to pass after seven days, that the waters of the flood were upon the earth.

11 In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened.

12 And the rain was upon the earth forty days and forty nights.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Gen 7

13 In the selfsame day entered Noah, and Shem, and Ham, and Japheth, the sons of Noah, and Noah's wife, and the three wives of his sons with them, into the ark;

14 They, and every beast after his kind, and all the cattle after their kind, and every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind, and every fowl after his kind, every bird of every sort.

15 And they went in unto Noah into the ark, two and two of all flesh, wherein is the breath of life.

16 And they that went in, went in male and female of all flesh, as God had commanded him: and the Lord shut him in.

17 And the flood was forty days upon the earth; and the waters increased, and bare up the ark, and it was lift up above the earth.

18 And the waters prevailed, and were increased greatly upon the earth; and the ark went upon the face of the waters.

19 And the waters prevailed exceedingly upon the earth; and all the high hills, that were under the whole heaven, were covered.

20 Fifteen cubits upward did the waters prevail; and the mountains were covered.

21 And all flesh died that moved upon the earth, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of beast, and of every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth, and every man:

22 All in whose nostrils was the breath of life, of all that was in the dry land, died.

23 And every living substance was destroyed which was upon the face of the ground, both man, and cattle, and the creeping things, and the fowl of the heaven; and they were destroyed from the earth: and Noah only remained alive, and they that were with him in the ark.

24 And the waters prevailed upon the earth an hundred and fifty days.

OK, firstly, Jesus will make the call on which way to read it.

Luke 17:27- They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all

Yet Gen 7:4 says: Seven days from now I will send rain...

Just to make sure Jesus isn't leaving it murky, you can see how He compares it to Lot's story. There is no question that it was the same day when they left and the judgment from above came down. Therefore no question on how Jesus understood/meant it.

Also consider:

You highlighted "the selfsame day",(the exact day) and "into the ark". Which begs the question, same day as what? The six hundredth year of Noah's life, the second month, on the 17th day. It can only be from the previous (what you call) account. But you see now they must be connected. The same day that, again, they went in, in an "account" that includes RAIN. The previous  (first) "account" tells us the rain won't come for 7 days!

They ate and drank until the day that Noah entered the ark. Did the flood come the day that Noah entered the ark? No, the flood came 7 days after Noah enters the ark.

I'm not sure why you can't grasp this. Jesus does not say that the flood comes the day that Noah enters ark. Jesus says they were eating and drinking until the day Noah enters the ark. Did the flood come and destroy them all? Sure it did, 7 days later.

Exactly the point I'm trying to make. There are two stories referenced. The first is the story of Noah. We know that Noah is in the ark 7 days before the flood. The church will be raptured prior to the 70th week of Daniel, before the seals are opened. The GOODMAN will not know when He will come.

Likewise, also we know that Jesus will come when it's like the days of Lot. That will be the rapture after the tribulation (post trib) This is the gathering that you see in Matt 24. This is the gathering that Paul speaks of that is before the day of the Lord, the day of His wrath. The believers at this time are told to look up, their redemption draws nigh. Paul says that day will not take them unaware as they are not in darkness.

Jesus says learn the parable of the fig tree. FYI, the fig tree has two harvests. the first harvest is an early summer harvest. The second harvest, the main harvest, is a late fall harvest. There will be two coming of Jesus, one pretrib, the secret rapture and one pre wrath.

In the selfsame day Noah, his family, and the animals loaded into the ark. PERIOD. This information tells us that the loading of the ark took only one day. That day was 7 days before the flood as we can see in the first account and the second account.

First account - Noah and everyone, enter the ark. In seven days it will rain. Noah did what God commanded. Noah was 600 when the flood was upon the earth. THE END.

Second account- Noah and everyone went into the ark as God commanded. It came to pass after 7 days that flood waters were upon the earth. The six hundredth year of Noah's life, the second month, on the 17th day the flood was upon the earth. It rained forty days and forty nights. THE END

Third account - Noah and everyone enters the ark on the same day. It rains forty days. All flesh dies. The waters are upon the earth 150 days. THE END

If we can see in both the first and second accounts that Noah and everyone enters the ark and then seven days later it rains, why in the world would you then conclude that it rains the day that Noah enters the ark? You are taking the end of a story and making it the beginning of a retelling of the same story.

Suppose a time traveler went back in time and came to an area. Say he knew from history there was going to be a massive earthquake on the earth that would kill a vast majority of the people on the earth. He knows from history that a domed football stadium withstands the earthquake and he is in that area. He meets a man named Joe that he likes and wants to help him before he leaves. There are several accounts of what took place.

Account 1- The time traveler tells Joe to come into the stadium with all your friends, pets and gear that you need. In 7 days there will be a massive earthquake that will kill most of mankind. Joe was 60 years old when the earthquake came.

Account  2- Joe went into the stadium with his friends and pets and gear because of the earthquake. And it came to pass after 7 days that the earthquake struck the earth. In the 60th year of Joe's life, on the 2nd month and 17th day, the same day did the earth tremble and the quake hit the earth. And the earth trembled and quaked for forty days and forty nights.

Account 3- On the selfsame day Joe, all friends, every pet they had and all their gear entered the stadium. The earth quaked for forty days and forty nights. 98% of the population of the earth was killed.

So Joe enters the stadium 7 days before the earthquake comes as we can see in account 1 and 2. What happens on the self same day? Joe, his friends and pets and gear enters the stadium. That's it. You don't grab the information from the end of the second account and make it the beginning of the third account.

Not sure what else I can do to make you see. I would definitely get a King James translation as that other translation leads you down the wrong path.

There are not 3 accounts, that is your method of getting around the facts. The KJV shows only 2 paragraph markers in the passage. And the word for "entered/went in" is used only TWICE for Noah and family. The rest of the time it is for animals.

No need to suppose a fictional pre trib scenario....We know someone who actually does know the future, and He said, "...the day that Noe entered...the flood came..." No made up scenario that is convenient for a pet doctrine will work. You either believe Jesus or you don't!

You might need a new translation cause the King James says that they were eating and drinking until the day Noah entered the ark. And the flood did come 7 days later. Have your thought about golf.

Here is the verse I posted from....nothing about 7 days here. (Devloved into mocking repeatedly-noted again) (and a sure sign of having nothing else to offer)

Luke 17:27- They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.

Should Jesus try cooking?  Golf?
