Very true Lorie, we have nothing to gain by pointing accusing fingers. He claims to be one of us, so we probably shouldn't consider him an enemy. But on the other hand, if he claims to be a prophet, we should take a look at his fruit.

In one of his so called prophecies, he said that the USA would win the war and that it would be over in seven months. It doesn't take a prophet to figure out that the U.S. would win, but what about the (seven months part)? Wrong!

I don't think Bush even considered this to be a war against Iraq. It's a war against terrorism. Iraq was only the second stop in this struggle for freedom, but it won't be the last. :P

Until next time,

keep the fire burning! :P

Truth Solana Style

If you've seen Mel Gibson's The Passion of the Christ, you will recall the scene where the Roman governor Pontius Pilate asked Jesus, "Truth? What is truth?"

It appears some of today's political leaders have the same problem identifying truth. According to this report, the EU's High Representative doesn't think the Madrid bombing that caused the fall of a pro-American government represents a victory for terrorism. Solana said:

I want to make very clear that nobody, nobody can give a victory to terrorism (Read about it here)>>>> http://www.eubusiness.com/afp/040317035704.bnktv2v3

In fact, Solana doesn't even think it was an attack against Spain. Solana went on to say:

The criminal act that took place in Madrid is not an act against a particular country, this was an act against the citizens of Europe.

Why would Solana hold these views? For one thing, Solana is a member of the Socialist party that has come into power in Spain. And for another thing, this tragic event will help Solana gain much greater influence in Europe. Solana has long been warning Europe's leaders they needed to do more to protect themselves against terrorism. Now they may listen and take his ideas seriously.

But Solana isn't the only politician who may be a little creative with truth. The EU's Commission president Romano Prodi appears to be fairly creative also. According to this report, Prodi is saying the United States war is responsible for the bombings in Madrid. Prodi said:

Whether in Iraq or outside Iraq -- in Istanbul, Moscow, Madrid -- the terrorism that should have been stemmed by this war is infinitely more powerful today than it was a year ago.

And Prodi agrees with Solana the EU heads need to do more to fight terror. In fact, Prodi supports Solana's idea about creating a new terror coordinator. Prodi said:

We are already discussing the need for a European commissioner for terrorism.

Now let's look possible reasons for Prodi having these views. The first that comes to mind is Prodi's domestic political ambitions. In October his term as Commission president is over and he's planning on running against Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi. And as you know, Berlusconi has been a strong supporter of the Iraqi war. And it appears Prodi may be setting the stage to make Berlusconi's support for the Iraqi war an election issue.

Yet Prodi isn't alone with this idea. It appears United States Presidential candidate John Kerry may be attempting the same tactic. But he knows better than to do so in the open. So I think Kerry may be letting his old buddy Howard Dean do it for him.

This brings up a good question. Will the Madrid bombings end up bringing about a left sweep in the coming elections -- in Italy, Britain, and even in the US?

And Solana says it wasn't a victory for terrorists.

EU to agree new terror Tsar

EUOBSERVER / BRUSSELS - The European Union is set to get a new co-ordinator who will work under the EU's foreign policy chief Javier Solana to manage its actions against terrorism.

The person will feed information to Europe's justice and home affairs ministers and "will co-ordinate the work of the Council in combating terrorism", according to a draft declaration by the Irish EU Presidency.

However, the exact duties of the post are not yet clear. It is also not clear whether the person could eventually make concrete proposals to member states.

A name is not fixed but the Dutchman Klaas deVries, a former interior minister, has been mentioned.

EU leaders could adopt the decision to create this post as early as next week at their summit on 25-26 March.

The UK home secretary David Blunkett said on Friday morning, ahead of the extraordinary summit of justice ministers, that the position "pulls together information which is already available, this is not about creating entirely new institutions".

Austria's Ernst Strasser said the idea was "sensible" while France's Nicolas Sarkozy said there was "relative consensus" for the post.

A network of agencies

Cold water has been poured on the idea of a European equivalent of the CIA. German interior minister Otto Schily said that the idea went "too far" as there is no European government.

However, he did suggest that there should be a network of member states' intelligence services.

The draft declaration, set to be finalised by heads of state next week, is also pragmatic about the length to which member states will go to share intelligence; it just says that the flow of intelligence "should be improved".

Stressing the "reality" of the world we live in, Irish justice minister Michael McDowell said that intelligence information was the "crown jewels" of member states.

Big push for biometric data

France and Germany took the lead in pushing for more security measures to be pushed through in Europe.

These include speeding up the timetable for the inclusion of biometric data

Solana warns against an over-reaction after Madrid

The EU's foreign policy chief has warned against an over-reaction in the European Union following the bomb attacks in Madrid on 11 March.

In an interview with Bild am Sonntag Mr Solana said "Europe does not find itself at war".

The fight against terrorism "must be carried out with various instruments".

"We need better co-operation between police, justice and intelligence services. We must expose the financial sources of international terrorism and raise the safety of our public transport".

He added that an anti-terror coordinator could provide a useful service for the EU and stressed the importance of a solidarity mechanism where member states can help each other quickly if one country is victim to a terrorist attack.

Mr Solana also spoke out against changing the European "way of living". "We are democrats who love freedom".

His comments come as Europe has seen a rush of high-level meetings since the Madrid attacks to try and co-ordinate the fight against terrorism. Several new proposals such as

rules on retaining communication data (from telephones and the internet) and a European register on convictions are being considered.

Today EU foreign ministers will gather in Brussels where security measures will top the agenda - they will further discuss proposals by EU justice ministers for an anti-terror coordinator, and how to improve cooperation and trust between member states on intelligence issues.

On top of this, EU intelligence chiefs will meet in Madrid today and senior police officers will gather in Dublin.

Proposals arising from all of these meetings will be put towards a declaration set to be approved by EU leaders at a summit at the end of this week.

Big five establish anti-terror 'pioneer group'

The most significant event of the anti-terror summit which took place last Friday (19 March) in Brussels may well have occurred outside the meeting room.

In a preview of how things may be governed in an enlarged Europe, the ministers of the UK, France, Germany, Italy and Spain held a breakfast meeting at another venue - the house of the British ambassador - to debate the issue, reports Le Figaro.

And the creation of this 'pioneer group' is said to have come about due to frustration at the lack of progress from a meeting of 25 countries and 50 ministers. Nicolas Sarkozy, French interior minister fumed, "with fifty of us, it's very difficult to work and to get anything more than just rhetoric".

So the representatives from this 'G5' met outside the summit to discuss the creation of a 'pioneer group' which would progress faster than the others.

The five also agreed on an information sharing system which they hope will improve their efficiency in the fight against terrorism.

Same culture, same speed

Mr Sarkozy justified the meeting saying, "The G5 is not aiming to exclude anyone: it's just a way of making our work easier, this is a big help for everyone".

"Between the five of us, we have the same culture of information, things will go quicker. The ten new countries, let us recognise, do not have any information culture, they work differently, not to mention their different relations with NATO".

I think the article above is very interesting. It reminds me of the iron and clay parts of King Neb's dream (feet and toes). The "Big Five" nations mentioned are the strongest and most powerful of all of the ten nations in the WEU (Western European Union). If you remember, the WEU is the 10 nation Defense wing of the EU, which fall under the command of Javier Solana (Secretary-General of the WEU). Could these five nations be the iron toes?

Daniel 2:40-44 - "And the fourth kingdom shall be strong as iron: forasmuch as iron breaketh in pieces and subdueth all things: and as iron that breaketh all these, shall it break in pieces and bruise.

41 And whereas thou sawest the feet and toes, part of potters' clay, and part of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; but there shall be in it of the strength of the iron, forasmuch as thou sawest the iron mixed with miry clay.

42 And as the toes of the feet were part of iron, and part of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong, and partly broken.

43 And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay.

44 And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.

Loving Darkness

Have you noticed the change? Suddenly, it seems the whole world is turning against America.

There have always been forces in this world opposed to America. However, as long as America had strong allies in Western Europe and elsewhere, these forces were somewhat subdued. But now not only doesn't American have her strong allies anymore, the world is being offered an alternative. The result is America's enemies have become bolder.

Where did it begin? This is what's interesting to students of Bible prophecy. It began in June 2000 when the leaders of the 10 nation Western European Union alliance adopted their Assembly Recommendation 666. This decision set in place the framework for a new power center in Western Europe that was foretold through the prophet Daniel (Daniel 7:7-8).

That's why this report about the EU's High Representative Javier Solana caught my attention. You see Solana is the Secretary General of the 10 nation WEU alliance. And as Secretary General of the Council of Europe, Solana helped implement Recommendation 666.

In this report not only did Solana say Europe was not at war against terror, Solana warned about over reaction to the Madrid bombings (Read about it here)>>>> http://www.euobserver.com/index.phtml?sid=9&aid=14876

Here's my point: Even as Solana is calling for a powerful new terror Tsar to combat immigration and Islamic fundamentalism across all Europe, he's saying exactly what most Europeans want to hear -- there is no war against terror. President Bush, on the other hand, isn't saying what they want to hear.

At the same time, it's being reported the Irish EU presidency has announced its decision to go ahead with its own plan for the Middle East (Read about it here)>>>> http://www.euobserver.com/index.phtml?sid=9&aid=14895

And guess what? It just happens to be Solana's plan -- the 1995 Barcelona Process.

Like I said, not only has America lost important allies, the world is being offered an attractive alternative in the form of Solana and the EU.

Now let's look at the big picture. President Bush's primary political base is Christian America. Solana, on the other hand, has proudly stated the opposite -- he represents a post religious Europe.

As I consider the choice our world now faces -- the leadership of Christian America or a post religious Europe -- I'm reminded of something Jesus once said. He said:

This is the judgment, that the Light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the Light, for their deeds were evil (John 3:19 New American Standard Bible).

Ironically, in Spanish Solana means sunshine.

Hi Suzanne,

Jesus said He is the light of the world. He also told the Jews that they would reject Him and receive another who would come in his own name. Is it a coincident that Solana's name means sunshine, which is the light in the physical dark world?

And to think that this same man has risen up among ten nations (ten horns).

And if this isn't enough, the same man is the man in the EU that has the authority to sign international peace treaties on behalf of the EU, as he is the High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy of the EU.

Hmmmmmm!
