But sometimes I get a little too enthusiastic in my prayer and forget the second part of the scripture Which tells us, after you pray and thanks God for helping you and getting his Peace STOP THINKING ABOUT IT! 8 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things So today for break I decided to take a walk, the sky was blue the sun was shining and the air was fresh. I had just finished praying (as I habit of doing while working) and when I started walking and started praying again And it was one of those moments when God gives a little tug on the leash to get me back on track, and I could hear his words in my heart "would you just relax, I got this" and I had to laugh...I was over stressing and forgot the part where I was supposed to stop thinking about it all. And then the line from the 46th Psalm came to me "Be still and know that I am God Psalm 46: 1 God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. 2 Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, 3 though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging.[c] 4 There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy place where the Most High dwells. 5 God is within her, she will not fall; God will help her at break of day. 6 Nations are in uproar, kingdoms fall; he lifts his voice, the earth melts. 7 The Lord Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress. 8 Come and see what the Lord has done, the desolations he has brought on the earth. 9 He makes wars cease to the ends of the earth. He breaks the bow and shatters the spear; he burns the shields[d] with fire. 10 He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” 11 The Lord Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress. So does it ever get too much for you? And how do you respond?

That is a phrase we hear often. We often act as if God needs out help. We wrestle over control of some degree of what happens in our lives. We often hear the phrase " God helps those who help themselves" which is not biblical and it is not in the Bible. The phrase is actually 100% contrary to the Word of God, which instead tells us to be still. When we are still and quiet in His presence, we put ourselves in a teachable position. Are you too busy to keep up with God? Lay down your efforts and simply be still. What you may find may help yourself in your service to God.

It is said a hole has never been dug while leaning on a shovel. Sometimes we are to go look for shovel and dig a hole so to speak. Other times I feel we are placed on idle and don't know what to do with ourselves. Reminding ourselves we are not to worry or fret is a good thing. The bible is full of scriptures that can comfort us in the knowledge of the Lord's care, yet the true test comes when we know we are being wheeled into a hospital for the last time or that last few milliseconds when we see that tractor trailer coming at us before impact. The realization that we are in a situation where the ONLY choice is to trust the Lord with the outcome and where coming out the other side of an event will have forever far reaching consequences. This isn't the same kind of faith we have when we pray for help to pass a math test or pray that we get that new job. No. This faith is bullet proof faith. This faith weathers the very worst of storms. This isn't easy to do sometimes even when we know the Lord is going to get us through it. If we have that kind of faith though, nothing can shake us unless we take our eyes off of Him. God will rescue us regardless, however it would be preferable to say to the Lord, " I knew you had me" Instead of, " Boy I wasn't sure there for a minute".
