Hello,

I am needing clarification on women pastors allowing to serve in the Shephard's capacity.

I feel that there is a calling there with some of these, but I really do not know how to make the determination of pastorial ministy.

Thank you, Gentlesound

Gentle, the Bible forbids women pastors.

1Ti 2:11 Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection.

1Ti 2:12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.

1Ti 2:13 For Adam was first formed, then Eve.

1Ti 2:14 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.

It's an easy decision seeing that the Word of God is pretty specific.

It might benefit this discussion to first look up the subject using Worthy's search feature. This issue has been extensively discussed in other threads.

But.....what if there either are no men ( or no qualified men ) or there are no men willing to take the role of Pastor in a particular church ? Is God going to fill that position with a qualified woman, or is He so legalistic that He'll just let the church fend for herself without any leadership ? Should an unqualified man take the position over a qualified woman for the sake of gender roles ?

I see nothing wrong with a woman pastor if she's been called by God to lead. If it's based on some "women's rights" movement or if she's trying to prove some point to herself- yeah, that's the wrong reason... but who are we to say God hasn't called her to serve in leadership ? ( I'm sure there have been many a men who over the years entered the ministry for the wrong reasons...yet their motivation is never called into question  )

I'm sure I'll come under fire for my position here, but it's how I feel about the subject.

Blessings,

Tim

God has declared in His Word that a woman is not to do the job.

If God is for the formation of this Church body then He'll provide a competent man to lead it.

Being a Pastor is a calling from God. God does not call women to be Pastors simply because He said they weren't to serve in that capacity.

Is God legalistic? Perhaps. But, what He says goes. If you want Christ to be the head of the church you have to let Him reign.

first off, the Lord calls all of us to service.

and the Bible does tell the mature women to teach.....

this type of thread goes on and on with no end....

now, if a man gets up behind the pulpit and is preaching, who is preaching?

if a woman gets up behind the pulpit and is preaching, who is preaching?

if a spirit filled man is preaching then who is preaching?

if a spirit filled woman is preaching then who is really preaching???

my thoughts are if you are in question as to whether or not the Lord allows women to preach or teach, then it is best to read the Word of God for yourself after seeking the Lord to lead you in this matter

there are many threads that have covered this subject over and over again....

check it out for your self and seek the Lord while you are doing this....

if you feel that women should not preach, then go to a fellowship that women are not preaching, if you feel that it is ok then go to one that allows it.....

i believe that all ( not some not one not a few, but all ) people are called to share the Word of God...... there is no difference between a bond servant and a free man, a jew or a gentile, there is no difference between all of us.....

submission does not mean slavery....... there are women outthere that are more learned then some of the men that are standing there trying to teach you....

some of the men on TV are even less qualified then many women i know...

again, who is really doing the teaching????? the man? the woman? or the Holy Spirit?
