The following is a fun game to play.

Quote

“Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?

Matthew 7:3

The way it works is, whenever you catch yourself thinking negatively on the faults of others as mentioned in matthew 7:3.

You redirect the fault finding at yourself in an attempt at self improvement.

:amen:

For example: negative influences tried to direct my thoughts towards thinking negatively about my neighbors earlier today. Thinking about how they likely won't have a good future if they continue to make bad choices for themselves.

Instead I thought about how my own future might not be great if I make poor choices and what better decisions I could be making right now.

Its an attempt at the inverse opposite of the fault finding behavior mentioned in matthew 7:3.

A trend of looking only at my own faults and never criticizing or thinking negatively of others, is something I have tried to embrace for years. I think I have progressively improved at it over time. I think that my own habits and lifestyle have improved as a result.

Sounds fun!  Reminds me of the Hypocrisy game.  Its where you put on a show and tell others how to do something correctly but then you do the opposite.

I try to do that all of the time.  It works.

Maybe we could learn a lesson from the past and try to be a Pollyanna playing the glad game?
