Luke 21:28

When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.”

———————————————

Scripture shows there are 144000 of the tribes of Israel who are redeemed on the day of redemption.

Now there are some on this board who preach the day of redemption luke spoke about in luke 21:28 took place in 70 AD.

There are others who preach only those who can flee will be redeemed on the day of redemption.

What do you believe?

Do you believe the day of redemption took place in 70 AD?

Or

Do you believe the saints in Israel must be athletically giften in order to be redeemed? (They must be able to flee to the mountains )

Or

None of the above?

Personally I believe when the saints see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by the prophet Daniel, the saints in Israel need not do anything. On that day of redemption they will probably just stand up and lift their heads as Jesus said.

The saints....All of God's people alive at that time...like now it would seem. Our redemption is near!

Jesus Is specifically talking to the saints in Israel in luke 21.He is going over all the things that take place including thier persecution. He tells them the things they will expirience and what to do about it.

And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled. And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.

- Luke 21:24-28 (KJV)

This is prophecy for the end times—today!

If you are one of His elect, Jesus is telling you to look up when you see these things begin to come to pass and when you see the Jews and the soldiers gathering in Jerusalem. When the one-world system changes from a one-world political order to a one-world religious order, look up.  ….because being aware of how near your redemption is will make it a lot easier for us to deal with all the signs of the end times. So we need to be vigilant watchmen because the desolator who appears in Jerusalem at the sixth trump will surely deceive people if they haven't been sealed with the truth that has been prophesied to us in God's Word. You can be certain that your redemption will not come until the last trumpet (the 7th one) when Jesus Christ returns as King of kings and Lord of lords.

Thou I agree luke 21:28 is about the future, Jesus never said anything about a one world political order.

You may need to read luke 21 again to refresh your memory. Jesus is speaking of the things that take place in Israel. Not he world.

Luke 21:6-7

“As for what you see here, the time will come when not one stone will be left on another; every one of them will be thrown down.”

Teacher,” they asked, “when will these things happen? And what will be the sign that they are about to take place?”

—————————————

Jesus goes on to tell them about the signs that take place before the desolation of Jerusalem when one stone will not be left upon another and about the redemption of his students there.

Yes, as a continuation of the previous chapter, this is where the twenty-first chapter begins. The prophetic events that our age will experience, though, are also discussed by Jesus in this chapter. The information presented here is from the voice of God, and each event is a part of God's overall plan that has been in place from the very beginning. The prophetic events discussed here in chapter 21 can also be found in Matthew 24, and in Mark 13.  This is called the Olivet Prophecy.

You may not agree with me, but I hope you’ll at least research it out.  Thx.   -Selah

Just now, Your closest friendnt said:

I'm just pointing out that some people both believe and teach that luke 21 took place in 70 AD and believe the day of redemption was then.

Others believe this redemption luke spoke of is for those who are able to flee. Those who are unable to flee will not be redeemed. The saints in Israel who may be imprisoned or simply to weak after 3.5 years of persecution will not be redeemed.

As I've stated though. My belief is that the day of redemption is still future and the saints in Israel need not to flee the abomination of desolation. They need not do anything. Those who have endured till that time will be saved.

I’m going to Mark 13 . . .

And as he sat upon the mount of Olives over against the temple, Peter and James and John and Andrew asked him privately, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign when all these things shall be fulfilled? And Jesus answering them began to say, Take heed lest any man deceive you: For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. - Mark 13:3-6 (KJV)

After teaching and watching the poor widow woman give everything she had, Jesus left the Temple.  Four of the disciples are requesting information from Jesus regarding the event that would mark the end of this age and His return. Jesus is not teaching this in front of the crowd; rather, He is disclosing it to these four disciples in private. This marks the chapter's overall topic. Jesus will now reveal the seven seals in order to provide “us” with wisdom and insight into what will happen prior to His second coming. These seven seals are described in Revelation 6.
