I often wondered about this. 2 Peter 3:8 says a thousand years is like a day to the Lord.

If one is relating to eternal life it might be better to say a billion years is like one day to the Lord

That's a great verse, appears to mean time isn't a factor for the Lord.

There's an old song title, a Minute seems like a Million years 😀

Using that M&M scale minutes, hours, days.

60 x 1,000,000 = 60,000,000

24 x 60,000,000 = 1,440,000,000

6 x 1,440,000,000 =

8,640,000,000 years

About the current estimate.

Genesis 2:4

These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made the earth and the heavens,

Deuteronomy 32:7

Remember the days of old, consider the years of many generations: ask thy father, and he will shew thee; thy elders, and they will tell thee.

And we may be under calculating too

I just watched several videos about those two verses. I have say they were along the line that I already contemplated.

Yea I was having fun with it, though around 8.5 billion the thin disk of the milky way was fully formed lol.

Universe estimated about 13 to 14 billion. I've read the oldest star known as of today is estimated to be that old may possibly be around 17 billion hmm.

Psa 90:4

For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night.

Biblical night watch was 3 hours. 3 hours like 1000 years

This might have application if it were not for the fact that God's comparative given in the law:

Exodus 31:15 (KJV)

[15] Six days may work be done; but in the seventh is the sabbath of rest, holy to the LORD: whosoever doeth any work in the sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death.

[16] Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant.

[17] It is a sign between me and the children of Israel for ever: for in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed.

Because God placed this as a comparative- the follower of God's Word must accept the 24-hour period of creation event... or depart from His Word to other...

You lost me completely we were talking about (one day like 1000 yr) To God.   Psa 90:4 I thought was in line with @ Peter 3:8

Not sure how your verses fit?

2 Peter 3:8

But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
