I am part of the Jesus Revolution! I have traveled many a roadway to and through many a mindset and church organization dogma/doctrine  to find that at age 79 I am a hippie at heart and at home in one of the churches  in the mountains that is part of this movement. I do love it so.

I praise God for the privilege to be led there even as a now old hippie and a former "suit" with a hippie inside.

Sounds like a Brennan Manning Ragamuffin to me!

Back to the 70's and my high school days. Even the Catholic church was rocked by the Jesus movement. Guitars

were first allowed and the "Catholic charismatic" arose in infamy! I love it! This is happening!

Wait, make that the 60's and Catholic school. I just didn't start wrapping my head around it, until

I got a little older. I am that now.

Well! I resemble that comment.

Actually I was a long haired funeral "director", working in a suit, at age 17.

My God/creator has a grand sense of humor.

Rich Mullins and the Ragamuffin band played at our church.

Man, I miss that guy!

I am still digesting the funeral "director" comment, I think

there is something subtle for me to grasp. I love it.

Or is this straight forward? You were putting dead people in the ground,

now you are ministering life!

It's serious. Quick early bio-  I graduated high School at 17, could not get a job in California at under age 18, not even running the lettuce slicer at a Taco Bell. Plus the draft was going to get me at 18.

The State Unemployment Office said there was a job answering telephones nights at a local mortuary- and I found myself not only answering phones nights but on duty 90 hours a week doing all things necessary at  a mortuary. So Instant beginning to a career.

I immediately applied for Mortuary College then served an apprenticeship, became a licensed embalmer, then joined a Mortuary- Cemetery combine where I quickly became a mid level management type, always in a suit, and eventually moved over to lead the pre need cemetery sales people. I developed cemetery land, smoozed with Pastors Priests Rabbi and various other  leaders of faiths of all sorts,  and even developed a Jewish cemetery  within the secular cemetery, helped break the back of the Catholic run cemetery system, had all sorts of  fun in the fun-eral industry for many years, all while I was an atheist, till God pulled me away so that he could get my serious attention and turn me about to Him.

God not only has a grand sense of humor He is always leading me to new adventure, still is and still while on this side of the grass.

p.s. Never did get drafted into the military.

Reminds me of the movie "Night Shift", with Michael Keaton (first movie) and Henry Winkler.

A young Kevin Costner had a minor role as a "frat boy". Very funny.
