1 John 3:

4 Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness.

5 And you know that He was manifested to take away our sins, and in Him there is no sin.

6 Whoever abides in Him does not sin. Whoever sins has neither seen Him nor known Him.

Sin-hamartia, Lawlessness-anomia

Let's put the focus on lawlessness; in several contexts besides 1 John 3

The state of Agape in the church

Matthew 24:12 And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold.

The Narrow Road

Romans 6:19 I speak in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh.

For just as you presented your members as slaves of uncleanness,

and of lawlessness leading to more lawlessness,

so now present your members as slaves of righteousness for holiness.

World Relations

2 Corinthians 6:14 Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers.

For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness?

And what communion has light with darkness?

Convicting Secret Sin of the Heart

Matthew 23:

27 Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs which

indeed appear beautiful outwardly, but inside are full of dead men’s bones and all uncleanness

28 Even so you also outwardly appear righteous to men,

but inside you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.

You're "all over the place".  What are you trying to say?

1 John 7:8-9, "If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he who is faithful and just will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness."  So claiming that Whoever sins has neither seen Him nor known Him" simply isn't true.  Nobody is perfect!  (Except, of course, Jesus Christ.)

You wrote "The state of apape [sic] in the church

Matthew 24:12 And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold."

There is no such word as apape.  I assume you meant agape.  Also, Matthew's gospel was written to non-Christians.  It was written prior to Jesus' ascension.  Quoting Matthew and claiming it means that agape is "growing cold" in the church simply isn't true.

Matthew 23:27-28 clearly shows that it was written concerning scribes and Pharisees, not about the church. They were full of hypocrisy and lawlessness, but this has no application to Christians.

Why are you misapplying Scripture to judge the body of Christ???

That's rich! Using 1 John 7? to refute 1 John 3.

And you ask what am I saying? What is John saying?

And what are you hearing?

John 17:20 “I do not pray for these alone, but also

for those who will believe in Me through their word"

What word might that be? The Gospel maybe?

No hypocrisy or lawlessness in Christianity? That is a relief.

Matthew 5:20 For I say to you, that unless your righteousness

exceeds the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees,

you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.

Are you held to the standards of the Sermon on the Mount,

or is that not for Christians either?

True. What some witness, which occasionally surfaces in the news, is horrendous.

All of us are. It's the greatest of honors to be given life by the Son of God so we might might learn how we live by every word which issues from His mouth.

The World, or Christianity here?  @JimmyB

Matthew 7:23 And then I will declare to them,

‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness'.
