@Renskedejonge Well, I guess that some Christian parents would see a sensible strategy if their son seemed to want pierced ears to take him to the jeweler and have some unobtrusive studs put in; and if their 18 year old son or daughter wanted a Bible verse tattoo, just be glad s/he wanted something faith-based. (A kind of matter-of-fact approach.)

@Renskedejonge Yes, well, I really don't think it has to be a flamboyant thing.

It's not unusual for a somewhat more mature lady to be keen to be tattooed but in a an understated, low key way:image.jpeg.4c6353708e9ebd88e50974572c2d35c1.jpeg

( cc @Scott Free You were wondering about psychology; NConly recently said: "Well I have seen many women over 50 with tats many teens with tats, the other day I saw a Mennonite Lady with a tat" NConly is right; and it's done by the most conservative of recipients.)

Thanks, @Renskedejonge, for the 'like'; I guess you would agree that there is a quiet dignity about the lady in the photo having had something faith based machined in that is tiny, visible and unobtrusive.

"Well I have seen many women over 50 with tats many teens with tats, the other day I saw a Mennonite Lady with a tat"

@NConly

You're right. In some areas getting tattooed has become established among women as something that's just done, that the most conservative of women might wholeheartedly participate in naturally.

Conservative women are not necessarily going to feel inhibited from getting tattooed.

A bit like the sheer amount of fathers and sons in some areas for whom piercing their ears has been established as something that is just done, including by those of a conservative outlook.

Conservative men are not necessarily going to feel inhibited from piercing their ears.

"The term ear[th]ly in scripture simply means someone not done for God's glory. A tattoo can certainly be for God's glory, therefore not all tattoos are earthly."

@TrueFollowerOfChrist

It's clear that some tattoos radiate wholesomeness and modesty. And that faith based ones are often sought with a quiet confidence, without reservation.

It's very likely that the procedures that produced these examples would have been sought with a quiet confidence, without reservation

Hi @Scott Free I think it's clear that in some areas for male or female it's really about expecting to express the quiet fact that one is now an adult.

FYI:

..in the rural Bible Belt. Just about every person in three of the four sides of my family (bio parents, step parents) have multiple tattoos. Most of them are biblical (crosses between the shoulder blades are the most common ones) getting tattoos when your old enough is pretty much expected in the family.

Males do seem to favor the intimidation factor more. My best friend is a hardcore biker. He tattooed the names of his Christian brothers as rings around his fingers. I got a tattoo at thirteen, but removed it when I was saved. My tattoo is a scar constantly reminding me of where I came from.

@Scott Free Whether 'adorable' or not, it's hugely evident that tattoo parlors have to face the fact that there is very strong demand from the most conservative of clients (whose parlor appointments are often driven by faith and family theme motivations):

I have noticed however that lots of young girls have them and what is really noticeable is a huge amount are women say around their sixties .

It's hard for anyone to deny the very widespread existence of the mature female tattoo motivation demographic.
