At the very least 50% of what science teaches is theory not fact they can prove.

It's hard to pin down science because new technology increases knowledge and proves or disproves current theories.

The Ice Age would not have been in Genesis 1.

It would have been somewhere after the cataclysmic Great Flood - after the climate changed and huge animals began to go extinct.  God would not have created animals on the sixth day and then killed them the same day.

The evidence for what gigantic glaciers did to landmasses is great and had to have happened post Flood.

What do you call the Cataclysmic Great Flood?

So the extinction of the dinosaurs would have happened when? And the Cambrian explosion of species occurred when?

19 hours ago, Who me said:

Have you thought what caused an ice age?

Why should a warm planet suddenly become covered in ice, and why should that ice ever melt?

Both answersingenesis and creation.com have articles that examine  this.

In a nut shell.

The breakup of the tectonic plates durring the global flood produced enormous volcanic activity.

We see thousands of miles of volcanic rock.

This warmed the sea, while the volcanic aerosol  particles cooled the atmosphere  and land.

Dry winds over warm seas causes evaporation, most air rising over cold land causes precipitation, snow, cold winters and cooler summers would permit snow to remain and build up until there were sheets of ice.

As volcanic activity settled down, subsided,  the aerosols would be washed out of the atmosphere  allowing the land to warm up while the seas would cool down, resulting in less evaporation, less precipitation,  less snow and I e and a retreat of the ice.

The flood explains why the ice age began and ended.

Science does not agree with their interpretation.

Ge. 1:1,  In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.  And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

Darkness, for God only knows how long. Must have been every cold

So how does this relate to my first post?

The GREAT Flood - Noah's Flood - which the Bible says covered the whole world.

Extinction began after this flood.  During the Flood, land was changed.  All dinosaur fossils and even later wooley mammoths and such frozen in ice are found on the relative surface of the ground.  After Noah's flood.

I was not aware by the original post that this thread was about Gap Theory OR YC vs. OC.

I'll bow out now.

You ask a question, but then "Oy vey" everyone who presumes to provide you with an answer from a perspective you disagree with.

Why waste time asking questions when you will refuse to consider the answers?

Never mind - I will "Oy vey" myself if I can - to save you the effort.

EDIT:

Oy vey!

Just because we can only perceive a linear timeline doesn't mean that is the way it has always been.  God probably chuckles at our date-stamping attempts.

I ask a question when was the Ice Age? If a person does not believe there was ever an ice age, let that person say so in plain English.
