In fact, the opposite is true. Israeli Scientist claim that the Shroud is dated back to the time of Christ and most likely made in Palestine. The carbon dating that was done a few years ago, was found to be flawed in many ways. That being said, read the book, "A Doctor At Calvary," by Pierre Barbet. Barbet was a French surgeon, who studied the history of crucifixion, back in the early 1930's. Everything in his research gives strong indication, that the image of the man on the Shroud, was in line with Roman Crucifixion, but also agrees with the accounts of Jesus' crucifixion. Do I believe the Shroud is that of Jesus? I don't know, it's most likely not possible to prove. However, there is a possibility that could be.
