A friend and myself were talking the other day about salvation and our surity of it. We then started askin geach other questions and one that he asked was "can you loose your salvation?". I have heard this questioon before but it has never been asked directly to me so I had to shrug and say "I dont rightly know".

I have been searching the Word and havent dug up anything solid yet. All I did find is the verse that says that faith without works are dead and works without faith are also dead. If our salvation was assured then we would have no reason for works.

Please help me with this. I know its an old debate but if anyone has a verse that they found that can help me I would much appreciate it.

GOD BLESS!!!

Oh yes we do have a reason to do works:

Eph 2:8 For by grace you are saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God,

Eph 2:9 not of works, lest anyone should boast.

Eph 2:10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to good works, which God has before ordained that we should walk in them.

We are saved through His grace. Works do not save us but we are created to do works. We will serve Him, and do good works because we love the Lord, and not because we can earn our salvation, or keep it through works.

As for the OSAS/ OSNAS debate...I will bow out and let you search old threads.
