And in all fairness read this lyric that reflects his catholic upbringing. Imagine accusing an actor of believing every word they say in a movie. Ozzy is no Satanist - he is guilty of marketing children with crap - thats true. After Forever (including The Elegy) (5:25) Have you ever thought about your soul? Can it be saved? Or perhaps you think that when you are dead you just stay in your grave. Is God just a thought within your head or is he a part of you? Is Christ just a name that you read in a book when you were in school? When you think about death do you lose your breath or do you keep your cool? Would you like to see the Pope on the end of a rope? Do you think he's a fool? (Well/Will) I see the truth. Yes I've seen the light and I've changed my ways. And I'll be prepared when you're lonely and scared at the end of our days. Could it be you're afraid of what your friends might say If they knew you believed in God above? They should realize before they criticize that God is the only way to love. Is your mind so small that you have to fall In with the pack wherever they run? Will you still sneer when death is near And say that you may as well worship the sun. I think it is true it was people like you that crucified Christ I think it is sad the opinion you had was the only one voiced. Will you be so sure when your day is near say you don't believe? You had the chance but you turned it down (now/no) you can't retrieve. Perhaps you think before you say God is dead and gone Open your eyes, just realize that he is the one, The only one who can save you now from all this sin and hate. Or will you jeer at all you hear? I don't even listen to Ozzy but I don't make snap judgements about him just cause of the way he looks..until you people actually get to know him IN PERSON, don't be calling him a "Satanist" just cause of some dumb tv program you saw about him or w/e.... What???? We are ALL accountable for what comes out of our mouths or how we present ourselves to others. To say otherwise is naive. Essentially what you say here is that a person can say, do, act and appear in any manner and not have it be a reflection of his true self? That's not a realistic concept. He has changed over the years. I heard a rumour once that he had become a Christian, like Alice Cooper had. I watched his reality TV show a few times and concluded that... *IF* he did, it doesn't show. Of course it is possible that belief not show for a while as a new believer learns, it happened with a good friend of mine, the onlyt hing that changed for about 3 yrs was his language, then he blossomed like an oak tree...but I don't know how long he supposedly has been... And if he didn't, which is more likely...his mind is so gone...fried by years of drug abuse...that if you tried to wittness to him, he wouldn't be able to follow your train of thought. When I was in High School, and off and on since then, I prayed for Ozzy. I really would like to believe he's saved, but I remain very skeptical. Not for us to do.....again judge not lest ye be judged. and another thing why is so much time spent on topics such as these when we are to be teaching and ministering to one another and not wasting our time on foolish things such as this..GROSS! All the years of hard rock'in and unwittingly serving the wrong master have taken their toll on his spirit soul mind and body. It has profited him nothing to gain the world because like the proverb says, it has cost him his soul. He's tried to cram every sort of thing under the sun in that void that only Jesus can fill. Respectfully, I disagree. We were never told NOT to judge bad behavior or another's fruit whether it is good or bad. What Jesus was speaking of in Matthew 7 was to be properly prepared in motive and manner when we "judge" another person's behavior. He likened it to a speck in an eye; we are not to ignore the speck in another's eye. We are to prepare ourselves, ensuring we have clear vision, and offer to help them remove that speck. Motive & manner is important; recognizing and addressing unholy behavior in ourselves AND others is important as well. I don't think these discussions are a waste of time IF they show the distinction between what is good & holy and whate is evil & destructive. Think about it saints.
