The Pslams were originally sung. I would really like to hear that...

But also, Hebrew poetry is based on a format called "parallelism" where one thought echos, compliments, contraticts or adds on to another. It doesn't rely on rhyme and meter like our poetry does. "Once he asked me if I knew Oral Roberts, that he'd like to meet him sometime. I called Oral, and they met in Lake Tahoe. Oral told me later he had a wonderful chat with him, that he was looking for some anchor in his life, some direction. He was giving thought to turning his shows into some sort of evangelical outreach, sort of like Bob Dylan did."
Guest canyoudodgeawrench
i think its pretty mean to judge someones relationship with god based on the fact that they like a paticular artist. not saying i promote manson, cause i dont. but, still, who are we to judge? That's not what the Bible says-it says that we should settle things amongst ourselves saying that we'll be judging angels!!! IMO, it's not being judgemental, but simply stating the facts. but what are the facts? im just trying to understand. ive been thinking about it a lot recently in my own life. Well, this is the Ronald Reagan (me! ) interpretation, lol, but here's my take. If God is going to entrust us to judge angels, we should also be able to judge one another's fruits. The Bible talks about that if we see a brother in a fault that we are to approach him. For us to be aware of a fault, first we would have to make a judgement. Now we can't go around and point fingers and the like, but I think you can understand what I'm trying to say.

Perhaps there are good metal groups out there, but frankly, metal is metal in my mind. Even if KISS and Ozzie aren't truly Satan worshippers and it's all an act, it's an act that I would want no part of! Personally I can't even stand Christian Metal, lol! Some years ago I heard Stryper performing "To Hell With The Devil" (which, to me, is an inappropriate title to begin with!) and, before I actually knew what it was, I was cringing at the sound of the music. This seems to be more of a personal taste issue to me. Metal isn't for everyone As for Manson, musically, he's a reasonably talented individual (although nowhere nearly as talented as Trent Reznor, of NIN fame). He also seems to be a reasonably intelligent person, although there is definitiely something...off about him. As for whether or not he's a Satanist, I don't think he is (although I won't deny the possibility that he led some youngsters to Satanism, which is in no way cool). From what I gather, he's an Athiest, but he knows how to push peoples buttons. Think about it: he pushes Conservative America's buttons, and there is a media backlash, giving him FREE publicity, which draws America's rebellious youth even further to him. You see the cyvle there? Break it, ignore him and he'll eventually go away.

I don't believe spiritually there is a problem with it (if the lyrics are right of course), but some people just don't like the genre. As for manson, you are right, ignore him and he will go away. But nobody wants to ignore manson. He's an icon of rebellion and anti-christianity and that lures youth in like crazy. I think Manson will take a long time dying, and we can only pray he doesn't do too much damage as he does.
