I think I must have earned something by now... maybe not most offensive... but you do realize my topics alone in Fellowship Hall have gotten over 1500 replies... not to mention the topics that sprung up because of my topics... that should give me something, right? Until you can convince George to turn back on post counts in FH, you don't get anything, lol! I didn't think each element of what I said would be picked apart In seriousness, do you honestly think after all your blood, sweat and tears put into a debate, that the one you are debating with will change their mind? In the end, you DO get to express yourself with a lot of "high fives" and "Thumbs up" from those who agree with you. But are any minds changed? Highly unlikely. But.. does that matter? Probably not, it feels good to be able to write our thoughts and convictions out whether anyone agrees with us or not People...is this true? Do I really misunderstand this board this much? I personally debate to defend what I believe...if I convince people, that's great. If I don't, then having the exercise improves my ability to reason for the next time. If what I say is true, and I present it well and convincingly why wouldn't the person change their mind? And if there was no chance...and the other person is wrong I'd still say what I believe, but probably in a less "civilised" manner. So the possibility of change does IMO exist and as long as it does it will temper my comments to a point.
