That is what I was commenting on. Look, I respect your service, but you are in the same category as Cindy Sheehan and John Kerry. You were probably turned down for some promotion you felt you deserved and decided to leave the service with a bitter resentment towards it. I am an active duty service member myself and I am not a little boy, old man. I am 27 and have been honorably serving my country as an Airman for nearly 7 years. I know all too well the horrors of war as well as the horrors of civilian uprisings. Civilians don\'t have a code of conduct to adhere to, so before you start throwing tomatoes and calling us baby killers, you need to see how quickly the world would tear itself apart if there were no soldiers maintaining peace to the best of their abilities or preserving and promoting democracy and God given rights of humanity. Now, we were discussing Rumsfield and did not want it to become personal. The point of my post was to have this question answered: Too little too late? Don\'t take things too personally soldier. i hope and pray your number is never called up god kept me alive for a reason when i should have died for that i give only him my life sorry to disappoint you but i left on a gurney and not because i was passed over the last time i checked my papers read honestly discharged and no one requested my purple heart be returned call me whoever whatever you like but it is worthless until you have walked in my shoes

God help us all, because this is a terrible turn of events for this nation.

Rumy is an awesome guy, but he did tender his resignation three times before and each time GWB kept him on. It would have been politically expedient to have accepted the third offer. As far as his replacement goes, both my dad and I have known the man for a long time. He's a career civil sevant; a harmless choice but not the man Rumy is. People can honorably leave the military when their commitment is up. I also respect your sacrifice and I hope you are not permanently disabled. If God decides to call me home while honorably serving my country, then so be it. God will call me home on His time not mine. But, when looking at the alternative to President Bush, and our former Legislation, it's even more frightening.

Keep it civil. We're supposed to the salt of hte earth. I know that emotions run high at election time, but that doesn't mean that we can throw caution to the wind and not watch our words. Words are powerful and they last forever.

They just want us to be civil with each other and honor Christ. Sometimes I am too blunt with my comments and genuinely apologize and try not to let emotions control the discussions. So, how do you all feel about Robert Gates?

Isn't this great, we will now pay taxes to fund research on the creation of human beings for the purposes of harvesting body parts. Great day indeed! Thankyou Father God! Thankyou and praise Jesus!
