Thanks. The way I've always understood it is - The ability to tell the distiguish lies or error from truth, bad from good, darkness from light, ...etc. I'm pretty sure that's close. Thanks. Hi terter, Simply put, "discernment" is the ability to judge whether an impulse to act in a certain manner is from God or not. It can be a gift---or charism---of the Holy Spirit. Or, discernment can be developed thru reading/studying/reflecting on the Bible. Though this is still dependent upon the grace of God to make your vision clear.
