Hey Billie, I jut read your thread, and you are doing so great. Wanted to give everyone heads up on the grilled chicken at McDonalds. It is better than the fried, but not that low in calories. It is not really "grilled". They put some kind of butter sauce down on the griddle (same griddle used to cook all the burgers) and then they put the chicken down. Not sure what is in that sauce, but I am sure it is not healthy. I work at McDonalds and have my lunches there everyday. Not really anything healthy on the menu, so I try to keep as busy as possible so I can burn some of it off, and watch what I eat the rest of the day. I do not think I have lost anything since I been working there, but I do not think I have gained any either. Keep up the good work, will be checking back to see how you are doing and how much you are losing. You are an inspiration to many. God Bless you!

Great news, Billie.

Now, a bit of fatherly advice, if I may:

My daughter, aged 25, is always going on about her weight, when she is absolutely NOT overweight, in my mind.

Looking at the foto on your profile, I'd say that you are not overweight, either.

But, I know that these things are important to women, for some reason, so....if it makes you feel good....go for it!

God bless, and good luck (though I don't believe in luck)

Wow, you guys eat healthy in here.

Yesterday, for me:

Pre-breakfast snack--cold pizza (about 4 am)

Breakfast--bowl of Raisin bran

Mid-morning snack--rest of the pizza

Lunch--baked spaghetti, rolls

Afternoon snack--P & J sandwhich

Dinner--homemade lasagna, garlic bread and trifle for desert

Pre-bedtime snack--fried balony sandwhich with a small bowl of mac and cheese on the side

Of course, I am very active; outside a lot during the day, I do laps in the pool, etc. I also work out regularly and so on. I also have to gain 10 pounds.

Here's me:

Breakfast: 2 hard boiled eggs, piece of whole wheat toast, "I Cant Believe It's Not Butter" no calorie spray, water and herbal tea.

Midmorning: 2 ounces hard cheese (Colby-Jack), four ounces broccoli and a little light Ranch dressing, water

Lunch: 4oz chicken seasoned ONLY with Mrs. Dash, 8oz raw veggies ( Spinach, grape tomatoes, caulifower, radishes and cauliflower) light Ranch, and a beautiful Jonagold apple (best apple on the planet!! ), water.

Mid Afternoon: 1/2 cup, cottage cheese, water

Dinner: 4oz beef, 4-6 ounces raw veggies, one slice of whole weat bread, water.

It is easier to eat healthy if you eat smaller meals throughout the day, and don't let yourself get too hungry. The above is merely representative of what I eat: there are some variations for the sake of variety so that meal times are not boring. I also allow myself a "treat" meal on the weekends (usually Saturday night), but even it is in moderation.

For those trying to lose weight, remember that NOTHING tastes as good as thin feels. The moment or two of self-gratification from eating cake is not worth the weeks that it will linger on your waist and hips.

Also, something you can do to cut your appetite is to mix water, lemon juice and "Splenda" sweetener in a mug and heat it up in the microwave to make a hot lemonade (no, regular lemonade will not work). Drink this about 15 minutes before you eat, and especially if you are having hunger pangs. It definitely helps kill those pangs. BTW before I forget, put the Splenda in AFTER you heat up the water and lemon juice. It dissolves better in hot liquid.
