Poverty, Child Poverty, Crime, Ignorance, and teen pregnancy are all connected. You cannot successfully curb one without addressing the others. You may not realize this, forrest, but that is good rhetoric. It does not actually answer the question. There are a multitude of factors behind teen pregnancy: poverty, lack of parental involvement, inadequate education on contraceptive use, drugs and alcohol use, among other factors. The fact is, statistically about 95% of Americans will have sex before marriage. This is why abstinence only education will never significantly curb teen pregnancy rates. It takes a multi-faceted approach. If you disagree, then why do you disagree?

That being said, I believe the idea behind this is essentially a good one. Human life is sacred and it should be acknowledged. It seems a shame that a person can be conceived bearing the image of God, have its life snuffed out and subsequently be discarded without anyone making record that they ever even existed at all. All life is precious and if isn't going to be protected or allowed to thrive, at the very least it deserves to be acknowledged.

Most abortions are done for convenience' sake by women who are old enough to know better. Face it...not ALL abortions are done for convenience sake....and that has not even been taken into consideration by the people proposing this. Pregnancies by rape or incest are a rare occurance.
