John 16: 7 But I tell you the truth, it is better for you that I go. For if I do not go, the Advocate will not come to you. But if I go, I will send him to you. 8 And when he comes he will convict the world in regard to sin and righteousness and condemnation: 9 sin, because they do not believe in me; 10 righteousness, because I am going to the Father and you will no longer see me; 11 condemnation, because the ruler of this world has been condemned. Who is this promised of the Father? Why does He come? What is His role? What should we expect of Him? How should we honor Him? When are we filled with Him? Please, if you'd like, post a verse that talks about the Holy Spirit, and explain what it tells us about Him. Thanks! Fiosh Ephesians 4:30 "And do not grieve the holy Spirit of God" God the Spirit can be moved by our actions. Bewildering.

Why does He come? We wouldn't understand the truth without Him teaching us. What is His role? John16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. 14 He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you. What should we expect of Him? Everything we expect of God. How should we honor Him? By obeying Him.When are we filled with Him? When we are obeying Him. Ephesians 4:30 "And do not grieve the holy Spirit of God" God the Spirit can be moved by our actions. Bewildering. I wouldn't say bewildering, God feels sorrow ...whatever we see in the life of Jesus we see in the Father and Holy Ghost. Did Jesus feel sorrow when he walked on the earth? Yep. What caused it? God being rejected. So why would our actions move God? Well let me ask this....after we accept Christ into our hearts and receive salvation can we still reject God? Yes How? Well do we always follow what the Holy Spirit leads us to do? And if we ever say no or ignore Him then what would you call that action toward God? Rejection. When we are facing temptation and God clearly points it out as sin but we choose to do it anyway. What do you call that action toward God? Rejection. And how does this make Him feel? grieved (sorrow). Ooo my, what would the Church body be like if each of us would simply obey what the Holy Spirit instructed us to do not just once but everyday. . 1 Thessalonians 5:19 Quench not the Spirit. Hi I'm new here. This thought has been on my mind a lot and I have felt convicted of it myself. Can you imagine the difference to our behaviour if we all lived as if Christ were really alive (which He is) but I for one don't live with that in mind at all times. Or we feel that He is more interested in other topics or people. If we lived and walked by the Holy Spirit what a wonderful place our homes and churches would be Rae

John was the one sent by God to prepare the way for His Christ, and of whom scripture says 'among those born of women there is no one greater than John'. And Jesus of course is the Christ of God.
