Romans 16 17I urge you, brothers, to watch out for those who cause divisions and put obstacles in your way that are contrary to the teaching you have learned. Keep away from them. 18For such people are not serving our Lord Christ, but their own appetites. By smooth talk and flattery they deceive the minds of naive people. Here there are two different kinds of people. The deceiver and the deceived. The deceived does not necessarily know that they are being deceived otherwise they would not be in that situation. Their own ignorance has led them astray. This does not make them a false teacher but a person teaching falsely if they go on and teach what they have been taught. However if this person has been shown the truth and still goes on teaching what they were wrongly taught then they themselves have taken on the deceitful nature of their predecessors. Furthermore, this does not mean that you should tolerate false teachings, as they chose to accept the teachings of the also teacher even if it was in ignorance. Hope this all makes sense. But, if you go back to my earlier posts in the War on Terrorism threads, you'll find plenty of nasty stuff written by me. OA, 'Smash, and myself used to go at it pretty bad. I actually had to stop going to those threads for awhile and examine myself under God's care. I have changed the tone of my posts since then and I hope it makes a difference. Your fighting must have been before my time! We all need to back away sometimes and examine ourselves under God's care. I imagine if we stayed at the foot of the Cross, we wouldn't have much energy to fight all the time. Bless you and be safe brother, Wayne
