Sitting on my hands.......sitting on my hands........taping my mouth  closed......

Except to say, Mobile, could I borrow those rose covered glasses for a bit? Life must be so Heavenly sweet with them on. No confrontations with darkness, no work of having to stand up for light, everyone is inherantly good and loves Jesus. Please? Just for a week?  :)  :D  :D

I agree with you................. you really could use my "rose covered glasses" for a while (If you know what I mean ) :t2:

OKAY, HERE WE GO AGAIN!

On the news today (yeah, I did watch more :) ), Janet has a taped apology, in which she says it was her idea, AT THE LAST MINUTE!,

That the TV stations involved did not know, MTV, the others, etc.

A little bit too late for an apology lil Janet! Where is your head?

As far as the jerk that did it, no comment :x:

Already said what I had to say earlier :t2:

Janet has a taped apology,

Does anyone recall that line from Gone with the Wind where Rhett says to Scarlet -

"You remind me of the thief who is sorry he got caught!"

OK, I've spent enough time on this topic to get the vomiting out of my system it needed.

Now it's time to start crying.

There really is a serous problem with the entertainment/media and sport industries. Entertainment/media glorify sex and encourage inappropriate dress and the growing paychecks for many athletes (especially for these up and comming adolecents) give them a false sense of security and think they have a license to Kill/Rape/Mame/etc. and that they are above the law because they are rich and famous, the BEST at what they do. They can always hire the "Dream Team" of lawyers. Pride and arrogance get you crimes of the century multiplying at terrifying rates. How do you/we as a people/USA take this child/entertainment, media, sports, and give it a punishment that would make it not be so rebelious/disobedient? It's just like a parent that continually allows their child to do pretty much whatever they want to do and then when that parent tries to correct them they just laugh at the parent and continue to do what they want. How do you clean that up?!?!

speaking of the lingerie bowl... a friend of my husband's, who works in the same industry had the "priviledge" of working the lingerie bowl, and sent us a photo of him between two girls wearing gaudy, tacky lingerie. i'm thinking, if that had been MY husband getting pics with girls in their underwear, i'd have hit the roof!

I'm thinking that LadyC's hubby had better not even THINK of getting a photo taken in the same ROOM with two lingerire models if he enjoys living :D :x: :t2::)

LOL, quite right, river!

Laura, I think she is covering up for MTV and taking the whole fall. MTV said for a week beforehand that "something big and shocking" was going to happen during halftime. They were just thrilled with themselves and could hardly contain themselves. :t2:

DITTO to Work in Progress and River!

Yes, I heard that MTV was talking of shock value.

As far as free publicity, that's about it :t2:

I think she did it all as a publicity stunt ..... to time it with her release of her new CD. Her sagging popularity needed all the exposure it could get!! :t2:

i have no doubt they were all involved... mtv, cbs, etc. let's face it... more people will probably tune in to the grammy awards to see if they'll dare repeat the stunt than have tuned in over the last two years.

Janet, if anything, is the victim here! Last time I checked, Justin was the one who attacked her (on stage)!!!!!!

oh please LOL.... and let me guess... the swat on the behind was an accident too? and the "package" janet sang she would be "riding" tonight in that song was talking about the shetland pony justin got for christmas, right? send me some of those rosey glasses too. i could use a pair.

Well, I'm not yet ready to believe that CBS knew beforehand. Call me naive, lol.

Lady, people can tune into the Grammys all they want, but my understanding is that CBS has instituted new programming that allows them a couple of seconds of delay - so that they can bleep out anything like the halftime fiasco. I say GOOD!

. Janet taking the fall for this will just get her MORE press and will no doubt get her sympathy from her few remaining fans.

River, I'm not 'up' on Janet, but one thing I'm pretty sure of - her newest CD will sell millions, with no 'dent' in sales. Even people who dissapprove of her recent shenanigans but like her music will purchase it. After all, they like her music. Sigh. Sad, huh? Hope I'm wrong!
