i did not equate science with evil. you're reaching. satan is the author of confusion and can, and will, use anything at his disposal to promote his agenda.

science IS full of doubt. everything begins as a theory. until that theory is PROVEN, it is nothing more than estimated guesses. evolution vs. creationism has never been proven, nor can it be.

No scientific theory will ever be proven. Gravity isn't proven, germs aren't proven. You are confusing the layman's theory with that of a scientific theory. The layman's theory is a hypothesis, or an educated guess. Scientific theories on the other hand are not. They are molded around the evidence and have ample amounts of supporting evidence.

really? well, scientific "theory" used to account for all sorts of genetic beliefs. then the science of DNA came into being and disproved much of what had been believed previously. what happened to their supporting evidence? poof! it was gone...

Ummm... That is a perfect example of what science does. It disproves. It doesn't prove things. New evidence came along that disproved those theories. New ones took their places.

Whales breath air. I could provide many links from other "learned" men, who can have enough of the same type of evidence to counter every bit of "evidence" cited here. We will not change each others minds on this matter, but I am curious, how did you come to not believe in God? At night when you lay down, when it is very quiet, have you ever felt an emptiness, deep in side, a longing? A yearning? A sadness?.....be honest, not with me, with yourself. If not, you will, you came here for one reasson, God has other plans

I believe in theistic evolution, which is that God created us but also that we have "evolved" or adapted over time in order to cope with our changing environment. Apparently it's seen in animals as well. There are animals supposedly from pre-Jurassic period like crocodiles, certain reptiles and sharks that have changed very little, but other animals have changed in size, gained or lost defensive parts like fangs and claws, altered their bodies to adapt to the environment in different climate, etc. I'm not sure if that view of theistic evolution is exactly on target but that is what I believe, basically.

I sure would like to learn more or see evidence from other peoples perspectives too.

Did you bother reading the other two? Please, provide links from these so-called "learned" men.

I came to not believe in God when I realize how foolish it was, and how it was for the weak-minded, and nothing more than a fairy tale, with a promise of eternal life, and more importantly, the threat of eternal punishment. I couldn't see how an all-loving god could be so evil. I also look at the OT god, and see that is a much more cruel, unforgiving god. Honestly, I don't have a feeling of emptiness, no longing, no yearning, and no, no sadness, and I am happy with my life not I don't believe I will ever have those feelings for a god.

Disclaimer: I know many of you will be extremely unhappy with this post, but I mean no offense. Pastor*Paul asked me the question, and I answered it with sincerity.

Theistic evolutionist accept that the earth is 4.5 billion years old, and that we evolved from a single-cell millions of years ago. They believe that God guided evolution from the start, and that he created that first cell, or at least directed abiogenesis.

Do you fit that description?

God is not evil for allowing one to suffer the consequences of their choices, including the punishment of Hell for unbelievers. He is all loving for providing us with a choice to accept Him and be saved.

to believe such is to liken it to a parent who disciplines their child as being evil. if my daughters got thrown in jail, they'd sit there and do their time, even if their only crime was hanging out with the wrong crowd. she'd learn to choose her friends better. am i evil?

you are free to think that God is for weak-minded individuals. i am free to think athiesm is for the weak-minded.

the foolishness of God is wiser than the wisest man.

Again, I put a disclaimer on the post that said that it was my opinion. I do not want to get into a theological debate.
