Long-shot Republican candidate Mike Huckabee declared "a new day in American politics" Thursday after riding strong support from evangelical Christians into a decisive victory in the Iowa caucuses.

We had fun at the Iowa caucus last night. There was a huge turnout. It was just like the Des Moines Register says, long lines, way too few chairs, barely enough standing room. http://www.desmoinesregister.com/apps/pbcs...03047/1001/NEWS

There were some good three minute talks given for four of the candidates. There were a lot of young adults there participating. The first talk was given by a someone who is 17.5 years old. He did a good job.

Huckabee's support was overwhelmingly from the Christian conservatives. It was great to see so many turn out.

Unfortunately, the reality is Huckabee is a wolf in sheep's clothing, so to speak.

Seriously - before making a definitive decision regarding this guy, please read these articles!

The truly sad fact is that Christians, especially evangelical Christians, are easily snookered. I don't dislike Huckabee per se...but I like to vote for a man who is smarter than I. That wasn't a joke, by the way.

And, boy, does this line tell it all: There were some good three minute talks given for four of the candidates. There were a lot of young adults there participating. The first talk was given by a someone who is 17.5 years old. He did a good job.

can we discount the fact that even tho' he may not be as intelligent as some (& wouldn't this be true of all the candidates?), he will have a wisdom that goes beyond human wisdom?

surely that does not make evangelicals 'snookered' (i like that word). it shows their trust in being led by a man who is led by God.

looking forward to hearing your opinions.

My personal opinion is, if you are going to vote for him you are someone who votes based on one issue.

Otherwise, the rest of us who recongnize his many faults will quickly reconsider and look at the rest of the candidates.

Not sure. What I do know is Romney is. Why?

My gripe regarding Huckabee goes way beyond any "religious" affiliation.
