The Royal College of Psychiatrists says women should not be allowed to have an abortion until they are counselled on the possible risk to their mental health. This overturns the consensus that has stood for decades that the risk to mental health of continuing with an unwanted pregnancy outweighs the risks of living with the possible regrets of having an abortion. MPs will shortly vote on a proposal to reduce the upper time limit for abortions

Emma Beck, 30, left a note saying: “Living is hell for me. I should never have had an abortion. I see now I would have been a good mum. I want to be with my babies; they need me, no one else does.” That is a very sad and tragic story. Trouble is, in my opinion, abortion is so readily available and accepted in this country, that it has become a kind of 'safety net' for so many young girls who want to sleep around.....as they see it as a way out of their predicament if and when they get pregnant. I'm not surprised that abortion causes psychiatric problems later in life for a lot of these girls who aborted their children when they themselves were still young..........I would think that they only really reflect on it later in life. My personal belief is that abortion is murder.

When you take the life of another person it can a long lasting effect on the human Psyche.

We were working in the lounge at the Statosphere tower, it is very close working quarters for staff, anything said is heard in the lounge by customers... And these young women were talking loud and proud about their abortions in detail.... It ached my very soul, it made me sick. I don't understand why it did not appear to have any effect on them. There another woman there as well, she was a year younger than myself and new to Vegas. She got herself in a bad situation and had an abortion, she was also shocked by their conversation, because she felt remorse... She also fell into a serious bout of depression that led to alcoholism and several other bad choices, that eventualy led me to call her family from out of state to come and get her before she killed herself. You know that planned parenthood will be all over this - they don't want the reality of the emotional consequences being discussed because then it will affect them financially and that is the sick, sad truth! Not only that, but, they perform abortions on girls who've been raped when in fact they are supposed to turn them over to the authorities. They do not care about these girls and their well-being one bit - they are an absolute farce!

For these things have been readily seen for years upon years. It is an incredibly hard thing to deal with for years afterward for many. For some, they become so calloused that it is as nothing. It is indeed a very sad affair.

It's staggering. These are the ones who may have been pressured into getting one. Like the gay marriage advocates, the pro-choice movement has alot of influence and have affected/infected enough people that this 10% may very well have been pressured or tricked into their abortions despite their better judgment. I believe those women who have miscarriages also suffer similar occurances of the same mental anguish.
