When I was working in the casinos I was shocked and horrified by how many were having abortions, one of the cocktail waitress had, had 5 and they spoke of it all so casually... We were working in the lounge at the Statosphere tower, it is very close working quarters for staff, anything said is heard in the lounge by customers... And these young women were talking loud and proud about their abortions in detail.... It ached my very soul, it made me sick. I don't understand why it did not appear to have any effect on them. There another woman there as well, she was a year younger than myself and new to Vegas. She got herself in a bad situation and had an abortion, she was also shocked by their conversation, because she felt remorse... She also fell into a serious bout of depression that led to alcoholism and several other bad choices, that eventualy led me to call her family from out of state to come and get her before she killed herself. Biohazard is usually concidered body fluids/parts, or contaminated one use med supplies etc... medicines come under some other catagory. I had been watching one of those medical examiner shows /coroner, where they said that all meds/drugs [even vitamins] of the deceased had to be bagged/confiscated held until after autopsy and then destroyed... That got me wondering on how they destroyed all the drugs and that was when I began calling around, asking poision control, hospitials, etc. I got the same answer every time, flush it. I would think it should be insinerated, but had heard that_ that is just as dangerous. Oh yeah, I forgot to add: About a decade ago some yahoo got the idea to export 'sterilized' human waste as fertilizer... After a while of it being in use the soil was tested and shown to be high in phamaceuticals - everyting from vitamins > hormones > to more dangerous substances and the practice was stopped in most places... Mexico and China are said to still use this on their fields.

advisory... this is a tongue in cheek response... there needs to be more of the mood stabilizers and less of the sex hormones in the water supply! If there were less sex hormones in the water supply, there wouldn't be a need for mood stabilizers! There was a time when I was on pretty heavy meds, IV pain pump, pills and even fentanyl patches ranging in dosage for low to the highest.... I weaned my self off of all of it, it was making my condition worse. The result was a stock pile of 'chemical waste', I asked several authorities on how to dispose of it and all said to flush it down the toilet... Including the patches. Now also factor in the production of illegal street drugs that are also going into our water supply.... Yikes!

It is important that we read the Bible (God's Word) because one of the ways the Holy Spirit helps us obey God is by reminding us of what He says to us in His Word. God's Spirit will never go against his Word. In fact, when we read God's Word, we are listening to the Holy Spirit. Of course, you won't always do the right thing; the Bible says this ) 1 John 1:5-10). But that is why we need to continue to confess our sins knowing that God forgives us, based on what Jesus did on the cross. This is also a reason we need to spend time with other believers in Christ so they can encourage us in our faith.

Ew. They actually found bugs? They actually untangled all of that? I always figured you'd have to cut it all off when you changed your mind. No they did not untangled the dreads, they were cut off, but in the process of cutting them... well lets just say it was nasty, they took one and sort of split it down lengthwise to show her what had been on her head... Blech! It was like examing an owl pellet. For the city folk who don't know what owl pellets are: We had some barn owls nest in our garage when I was a kid. The house was old and out in the boonies, the garage looked more like a barn than a garage... Anywho, owls go hunting at night and after returning to their nest they puke up what they can't digest in these furry little pellets that will contain bones, teeth etc... Having lived in Vegas for 17 yrs (10 of those I worked on the Strip in the thick of it all), so my point of veiw and experiences in this town are a bit different and more varied than LadyC's. This is a totally different town than the one I moved to many years ago. As of recent years Vegas reminds me more and more of Los Angeles... As you drive through LA and it's many clusters of small communities that merge into one gianormas mass of never ending concrete and mini-strip malls. Some of the older parts of town and certain streets do resemble east L.A., Compton, South Central, etc. Like many other cities, we've lost some industries. In the '90 many companies brought business/factories/production to the area, some have left and took the jobs to China and Mexico or they just closed down. We used to have a Levis factory, and there was once a national brand ice cream factory... (We still have our local Anderson Dairy and they still have tours and samples). I think the cranberry and marshmallow factory are still in existance although they stopped having tours. Anywho, LadyC if your headed to Red Rock check out Spring Mountain Ranch too, there's a lot of stuff there during the summer, night concerts and plays. There is also a picnic area near Red Rock that has a hiking trail that lead into a wall crevice that has running water, trees and ice, even in summer... If I must go out into the light of the blazing summer sun, then it's one of my favorite place to take a lunch... Since I hate the summer heat... There's an episode of "What Not To Wear" on TLC where a woman had dreadlocks... Now she said she 'washed' her hair and she was having a hard time concidering a change in hair style. She finally agreeed and Whoa! When the guy went to remove the dreads, it was so disgusting! Because the hair is matted it is impossible to wash the hair completely, leving residue, dirt, oil and even other critters behind.... Ugh! It was more like a disection. You should see the show! When the woman saw what she had in her massive dreads, she almost got sick.... and she claimed that she did wash her hair.... In the end she was so happy not to have dreads and had a 'what was I thinking?' moment. Now if you insist you must have dreads and currently have straight hair that is at least shoulder length, here is what you do... Find a fast driving friend with a convertible; sit in the back seat, the more center the better with the car top down; have friend get on freeway and drive non-stop for at least 90 minutes... That should do it. Trust me! I lived this experience, it looked just like dreads and it took me 2 days to get my hair back in order.

I'm not so sure that filing separately would work. Let me give you a example... My mom was separated for a few years before divorcing my father [btw it was a biblically sound divorce]... Anywho he ended up owing back taxes, he just decided not to pay anymore and being irresponsible he let it continue to slip proclaiming that federal taxes were unconstitutional, blah, blah, blah.... While they were separated and filing 'married filing separately' the IRS sent her a notice of garnishment of her wages for his back taxes saying that spouses share responsibility for debts, even while filing separately. Well, she just about fell over at the news and went into panic. We called the IRS about it, she had to prove that they were living separtely and intending to divorce, the IRS ran their own investigation into the matter and then she was cleared from the whole mess.

I'd say that about the first 5-8 yrs here had some very cold winters we also had some soggy ones that reminded me a little of WA. state.. But we had a very unusual one back in 1994, it started off kinda cold and then February came and it was in the 80's, very spring like, reminding me of the time I lived in Redondo CA, and it stayed that way 'til mid May when it really started heating up. This year seems pretty average, a tiny bit cooler than recent years but, overall average.
