Sen. Barack Obama outlined his views on religion and government in a June 28, 2006, speech. He went so far as to equate Dr. James Dobson with the far-Left Rev. Al Sharpton.

"Obviously, that is offensive to me," Dr. Dobson says. "He's deliberately distorting the traditional understanding of the Bible to fit his own worldview, his own confused theology." CitizenLink Obama's entire speech is there.

Geez. Anyone who believes the proper way to raise a healthy child begins by breaking its will and subjecting it to abusive misinterpretation of all its actions and needs should never be regarded as authoritative in any way, shape or form. Sorry Dobson, you had most thinking people of faith at "hello" when you published massive tomes advocating the attitudes and practices of abuse as the "godly" way to rear children. You get no quarter here for dissing the president and playing your tiresome little party politics. Wake up, nobody's buying the "Christianity=Right-Wing-Agenda" brand of koolaid anymore. It has long since expired its sell-by date.

You for real?

I never knew folks regarded Dobsons child teaching in this light.

That is a bunch of nonsense and it is a misrepresentation of what Dobson teaches.

I listen to his radio shows, and as a christian mum, his teachings appear to be well founded in the Word. As for equating him with anyone far-left... that's just flat out wrong :24: .

I have found Dobson's teachings on child discipline to be spot on.

I have his book 'Dare to Discipline' and it is really good!

I have no problem with Dr. Dobson. I have a real problems with most of what Barack Obama says via his teleprompters. He's looking more & more like a one-term socialist head honcho spending trillions of other peoples' monies hand over fist. How, pray tell, can one spend his way to prosperity? Ain't happened anywhere yet! Keep talking, Sarah, keep talking! 2012 isn't all that far off!

Wow! You mean I'm not TOTALLY alone here? Praise God!!!

When have you seen the left wing truly stand for Christian principles without a self serving motive?

Actually . . . forget the self serving motive part.

Left or right I could care less . . . but like the sinner who lets a hypocrite stand between him and God . . . the hypocrite always stands closer

and though many of the the "right wing" are hypocrites . . . but they still are closer . . .
