My point being, however, that in the OT it was a similar history of conquest by the children of Israel into the land of Canaan, and God was commanding them to carry out these abominable acts, such as slashing open the bellies of pregnant women, for example. The Crusaders were doing essentially the same thing, in God's name. I understand that Jesus' teachings were far and away about peace and love, and that is the heart of my faith in Him. Guest Xan
Galations 5:12 "I wish the people who are bothering you would go the whole way and castrate themselves!" Some versions say "mutilate", but the gist is still there.

I should read the date before I respond! I know what you mean. I have to make myself look to the date before I post. The only reason I asked that question is because I saw the topic title first and came in to read and maybe add something. Then I followed my own rule and looked to the date first. It's easy to get caught up on a subject title because after all, do we expect to see a zombie thread revived after more than a decade and a half? They slaughtered many men, women and children, no matter what religion they were (even their own). Read Foxes Book of Martyrs, etc etc et al, as/if YHWH permits --- it (the crusades) was very very gruesome, worse than the holocaust in some ways..... Not a 15 year old thread far deposited in the back pages of this forum and for 1 1/2 decades. Why would you seek it out so as to revive a question that asks is God racist? Were you known here as traveller in 2002? Is that how you knew to seek this discussion out after all these years?
