I know what the Bible says about swearing an oath. I was at the courthouse today, and had I actually had to testify I would have been sworn in on a Bible. It brought a question to my mind. Since the Bible says not to swear an oath is it ok for Christians to be sworn in on a Bible for court?

the bible says not to swear an oath ...if you cant stick to that oath (cymbas paraphrase)

also you were legally obliged to do that and we following the rules of your country which is something else the Bible says we are to do. :)
