I agree Jade!! I don't care for his politics, but your right, we should all pray for him. God is the only one who can change Obama's mind & turn this country around! Whether he was our choice or not, he does have 2 children & a family. 2 wrongs never make a right. God be with us all!!

I wonder why after Jesus was crusified & He appeared to Mary, He told her to touch Him not but then when He appeared to Thomas He told him to touch Him. Why wasn't Mary able to touch HIm?

Amen sister!I think so many are running around scared due to all the elections & other events unfolding around the world. Fear is not of God! As you said keep your eyes on God & the rest will be taken care of as He wills. Jesus will never leave or forsake us as long as we keep our eyes as well as our hearts on Him! I agree Shiloh! However all that has been going on has made me think , back in Biblical times the people wanted Saul as their king even though he wasn't the Godly choice so God have the people the king they wanted. & were cursed until the time of David. I'm not by any means saying that I wanted Obama for president (I have been discouraged by the outcome of the election), I don't think any of the Christian people I know wanted him either. But do to our countries failing morals & thinking with their wallets he was elected so therefore the people got what they wanted & I can see that as much as we have turned from God as a country that we will have to pay.It has been on my heart lately wondering why it is that more Christians dont stand up & let our voices be heard, is it that we are supposed to be meek? I agree we are to be meek & humble but there is such a thing as righteous anger(ie Jesus in the temple). It has also been on my heart that even though these times are getting extremely scary , we should not fear, the bible tells us not to fear That God is with us & also that the spirit of fear is not of God. We should always look to Him in all things & pray, pray, & pray some more! He will not leave or forsake us! God be with us all!

Yes they still exist today!!Fortunately I'm now in a church that believes that also! My last church however sounds alot like the one your attending. You just keep on doing what God tells you to do & thank Him for the wonderful gift he has given you. Don't worry what others think of you, because you will have to face God one day & they will too. I get those alot also, & sometimes get the same email more than 3 times a day. I try to ignore them & just delete them. God knows my heart & i dont need to prove it to the folks sending emails.

My biggest ongoing sin is the sin of my tongue, while its the smallest member of my body it can do the most harm. This is something I wrestle with daily. Speak or don't speak , how something I say can be hurtful whether or not that was my intention. You can kill someone mentally & emotionally with words. So i continually struggle with this. I've had more sin that I have confessed about but this is one that I deal with daily.

Angelique my heart is breaking for you sister.Please don't try pills & booze it only makes things worse & I know thats easy to say & I understand your desperation. We all truely love you here! Most importantly God loves you! Although it doesn't feel like it right now your not alone. I think the most impotant thing is that he loves God 1st!!I have been blessed with a wonderful husband who treats me with respect & has been there with me in good times & bad. I also think honesty is so important even if it hurts my feelings I want to always know the truth. I give him the same in return. God Bless you!

I've noticed the atmosphere in the forum has changed lately. I see alot of posters in the forum basically attacking other posters. My question here is aren't we supposed to be Christ-like & Glorify God in all things? Aren't we supposed to let our lights shine? I know everyone has different views & come from different backgrounds but looking at some of the posts & replies it seems like proving a point is more important than showing love for our brothers & sisters. I understand that we're not all going to agree all the time, but sometimes we have to agree to disagree. I don't want to be controversial or judge anyone, I'm simply saying that it seem to get harsh & vicious in here sometimes & I think we (yes, me included) need to think about how Jesus would respond to whatever question or reply we have , not only in this forum but in our everyday lives. We are to be a reflection of Christ & I know Christ was without sin unlike us, I know its hard sometimes in some situations. I defend my faith also but sometimes we have to shake the dust off & move on & I wish we could do that without being offensive or insulting to other believers. I want you all to know that I love each & every one of you. I'm not trying to be judgemental( I fall way short myself), I just want us to think about what we say & do. God Bless You All! the bible says not to swear an oath ...if you cant stick to that oath (cymbas paraphrase) also you were legally obliged to do that and we following the rules of your country which is something else the Bible says we are to do. I agree with Cymba!!!

I agree!!We don't have much money either but I try to give the 10% of whatever we make at church. I don't do it grudgingly (God loves the happy giver) I do it as a show of faith & God has always provided for us.I do give my tithe at church because I thought in the new testament we are told to give at the storehouses which I understand to be the church in modern times. Fortunately I have a very giving church & a working church. I do give my time & try to do what God lays upon my heart to do. I know this subject had differing opinions but ultimately we do what God lays on our hearts to do. It all belongs to Him anyway we are just stewards of Gods property.

Thank you for this post Oak!! My husband is a recovering alcoholic. He has only been sober a few months now but this is the longest he's ever been that way. He tried many times in the past to quit & it was only when he gave it over to God & truely let God take over that he was able to stop. Thankfully he has had no mood swings, Dts, or other signs of withdrawals( I was bracing myself for all of the above). Our home now has a joy in it & its a true joy. God has been so good to us & He has shown me (I'm quite stubborn) that we can do nothing on our own, if Gods not in it then chances of succeeding are nill. What an AWESOME God we have & I praise Him for all that he does for us all!!!! God bless you Oak & again thanks for the post!

I was a child just like you described,I felt lost, invisible, & had no stability whatsoever so please don't give up on her!!Love goes a long way & when she finally sees that you truely care what happens to her hopefully she will come around. Hey all you men folk just do like my husband does, he always gets the 2 last words in , they are "yes ma'am"! LOL!! Jk

Tammy how did you do this? I need help to rid them for good. I was careful of what was on TV & on the radio or what was let in my home. I found that once I fully gave my life to God that I started to notice things more like the filfth on tv & radio, the internet ect. & it got so that it felt like these things were grinding my nerves , I couldnt stand them anymore so I eliminated them as best as I could. We also annointed our doorways with oil & prayed over our home ( some don't believe in this but I do). When Moses & the children of Israel took back the promised land , the Caananites had hidden their false idols in the walls of the homes so before the chidren of Israel moved in the priests would check the homes & clean them. If red & green streaks were found & couldn't be removed from the surface easily God told them to use the blood of an innocent animal to rid it of evil spirits( from the hidden idols). I think this can be found in Leviticus. My point is how many streaks ( so to speak do we have in our homes), how much evil do we allow to enter our homes & our lives without even realizing it. We are to be watchmen & watch with our eyes , ears & our mouths. Satan is always gonna wage war against us but with God we are stronger. We have to be accountable though for what we say & do & who& what we keep company with. For instance a discussion I had with my husband was that he wanted to watch a particular tv show that quite frankly was blasphemous & I was upset over it so he tells me " oh its just a stupid show I don't pay attention to that stuff". I explained to him that we finally have peace & joy so why mess that up when satan will get in any way he can. Thankfully we're on the same page now. I know some would disagree with me but if it doesn't bring Glory to God then I try to stay away. Its hard ...we live in an evil world & no I can't live in a cave & keep everything out but I can try my best. I hope this helps & I'm not rambling on too much. God Bless you!
