About This Club

Cancer is a club no one wants to belong to. This is to encourage those who are facing cancer, helping someone with cancer, or just interested in cancer. The Lord can see us through this trial.

  2. Blessings Jadey I can't believe 6 years have passed since you posted this - Praise the Lord! At my most recent Oncology appt my Dr mentioned 4yrs have passed since this lung cancer diagnosis- I was in shock,I really believed it was around 2 yrs ago since cyberknife- it's just crazy how time flies This " thing" is just sitting there, doing nothing- no movement,no significant change in the last 3 scans,I'd prefer it be GONE but very Grateful it seems frozen in its tracks- Glory to God! How are you doing? Post treatment changes our life but I hope all has changed for the better for you and for God's Glory! We are all here by the Grace of God With love in Christ,Kwik
  3. Hi Sister I was thinking about you out of the blue just the other day- so much so I about to pm you and then there was someone at my door knocking,by the time I came back inside I forgot I was even on WCF,lol This is the last club I'd ever consider joining but if the purpose is to Encourage others to Rest Assured that man's " facts " are not God's Truth,to Walk by Faith and not by sight- then I'm in! The spirit of cancer, insidious as it is has been lurking just outside of God's Property (me) since the 80s...The Word of God Reminds me of that trespasser who comes to steal, kill & destroy.....it wants to steal my Peace, kill my Joy and destroy my Faith but no,no weapon formed against me shall prosper!. With love in Christ,Kwik

  5. Hello everyone, chemotherapy takes a big toll on you and it affects everyone in a different way, but I want to share some things that have helped me. You should always consult your doctor before you try anything new though. Here are some things that helped me combat my nausea: If you have a bitter taste in your mouth, then sour flavourings on food and special flavoured mouth rinses can make the food go down easier. If you have a sweet taste in your mouth when you eat something, then tart flavoured mouth rinses or tart flavouring on your food can reduce that sweetness. If you have a metallic taste in your mouth after you eat something, then you can try to switch out your eating utensils. Metal forks, spoons and knives or canned food can leave an annoying aftertaste that can cause nausea, so I always used plastic or wood utensils and ate fresh or frozen food. Mint flavoured chewgum and candy can reduce nausea aswell.

  6. Thanks for sharing Jade. I hope you are feeling well today. You are in my prayers
  7. This is hard to write about. How much should I say? How can I honestly post about my battle with cancer without it sounding like whining? This will likely take many posts to write about. End of may 2018, I just happened to scratch and noticed a lump. It felt huge to me. The size of a kiwi fruit. At the time I had no medical insurance and my husband was looking for a job. It took a couple of weeks to get that all settled and get an appt with a cancer center. I am convinced the Lord showed me this tumor. I would never have found it otherwise. Later, on my first exam, the doctor asked me where it was, and I couldnt find it. I was never good at figuring out lumps. July 5th I had a biopsy. July 11th the doctor called and told me it was cancer. A small tumor and caught early. July 18th I have doctor appointment and get the plan of action. Stage 1A invasive ductal carcinoma. It was caught early, very early, earlier than most people catch it. Estrogen receptor positive and HER2 positive. Meaning I have surgery and chemo plus immunotherapy infusion. There are two ways to approach this cancer. I opted for what is called neoadjuvant. Meaning chemo first, then surgery. July 31st I get my port. Not really something I wanted but it makes infusions easier. August 2nd, I begin chemo. I get herceptin and perjecta as immunotherapy, and docetaxel and carboplatin as chemo. I now know what its like to be poisoned. I am also still dazed. This whole thing felt surreal to me.
  8. How are you doing these days?
  9. Some of you know that I faced a battle with cancer this past 14 months. It is a bit difficult to write about it. He showed me the tumor so I was able to get it treated in an early stage. Over and over again, He was with me, helping me along. He is still with me as I recover from the treatments.
